the Future of Europe ALDE Party Action Plan

ALDE Party Action Plan With the launch of the Conference on the Future of Europe in 2021, ALDE Party has played an active role in its development by bringing together citizens and institutions to discuss the issues that matter most.

We opened a digital hub for citizens to share their ideas and solutions for Europe’s challenges and we hosted a series of town hall meetings, named in honour of our late President Hans van Baalen, in collaboration with ALDE member parties.

All of these with a key mission: engage in the debate on the future of Europe to ensure it does not result in a mere public relations exercise, but in a real action-oriented one!

Digital platform ALDE Party gave citizens the opportunity to submit their own ideas for a European future that is better, fairer and greener through our dedicated digital hub, as well as during our Hans van Baalen town hall meetings.

The numerous ideas submitted covered a range of themes, from European defence and climate and sustainability to strengthening EU democracy – some of the most repeated ideas can be found here.

Hans van Baalen Town Hall meetings Since autumn 2021 we have been bringing citizens and liberal politicians across Europe together at our Hans van Baalen town hall meetings. The main goal? To put citizens at the core of discussions about Europe’s future and discuss the issues that matter most, including key topics such as security and defence, EU enlargement, citizens’ engagement and European democracy.

The town hall meetings took place in the following European capitals: Sarajevo, Madrid, Rome, Berlin, Prague and Warsaw.

Our solutions: Free and rule-based trade as a condition to access the European procurement market, completion and promotion of the Single Market, a Digital Single Market, reduce bureaucracy burdens for SMEs, prioritise job creation aligned with digital and green transitions
