INTRODUCING ELITE ATHLETIC ACADEMIES

25

26

ALBANY GOLF ACADEMY POWERED BY MITCHELL SPEARMAN

UNMATCHED FACILITIES FOR AN ELEVATED GAME The Albany Golf Academy at Windsor High School combines all aspects of the game to elevate student-athletes to the next level. With physical training, coaching, on-course play multiple times per week and on weekends, and targeted short game practise, the golf programme provides a rigorous and disciplined schedule to help cultivate the game’s top athletes. Using the latest technologies including a launch monitor, swing catalyst, and KVest 3D motion analysis, student-athletes can assess and improve all areas of their game. Practise on the same championship golf course and practice facilities enjoyed by some of the world’s foremost athletes, who live and play at Albany.

27

“Creating well-rounded golfers that compete at the elite level is our driving purpose.” MITCHELL SPEARMAN

28

Mitchell Spearman

29

MITCHELL SPEARMAN Recognised as one of the top golf instructors in the industry, Mitchell Spearman has been instrumental in the golf training world for more than 25 years. Mitchell has taught and trained some of the world’s top professional golfers and brings a passion for teaching the game to all ages.

30

JON HEARN DIRECTOR OF GOLF

From Kent, England, Jon Hearn is a British PGA professional who turned pro at the age of 16 after a successful junior career. After playing in tournaments around the world and being exposed to some of the best golfing minds, he has acquired a wealth of knowledge of the sport over the last 15 years. Most recently, Jon has specialised in coaching promising juniors, who through his knowledge and passion for the game, have seen great success.

31

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY SETTING THE CONDITIONS FOR SUCCESS Knowing each golfer is different, we implement a unique training and tracking system that allows the world-class facility to be completely utilised by the student-athletes, under the guidance and supervision of not only a great coaching staff but one of the greatest golf instructors to ever be involved in the sport of golf. No one swing is the same and no one skill set is applicable to any one golfer, course, or tournament. Creating well-rounded, highly efficient, and adapt-and-overcome golfers that compete at the top level is our driving purpose.

32

18-HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSE Windswept dunes and a number of scenic and strategically challenging water features characterise Albany’s E rnie Els-designed championship, par-72 gol f course, which measures 7,400 yards from the back tees. Featuring five par 3s and five par 5s, the course is accompanied by multiple sets of tees and a range of shot values, and is host to PGA TOUR’s Hero World Challenge.

33

PRACTICE FACILITY & SHED - A GOLF PERFORMANCE CENTER First-class practice facilities complement Albany’s golf course, including a 400-yard driving range and short game greens and chipping areas. Learners have everything they need to bring their game to the next level. Newly designed exclusively for Academy learners, the Shed allows for heavier focus on the teaching aspects of golf with multiple hitting bays, TrackMan, Quintec putting and putting green, and software for golf ball analysis.

ALBANY TENNIS ACADEMY POWERED BY LLEYTON HEWITT

A NEW LEVEL OF COMPETITIVE TENNIS The Albany Tennis Academy at Windsor High School brings a level of competition not found anywhere else. 35

“We prepare student-athletes both physically and mentally for the game’s highest level.” LLEYTON HEWITT

36

Lleyton Hewitt

37

LLEYTON HEWITT Lleyton Hewitt made a name for himself early on in his career, becoming the youngest male ever to be ranked No. 1 in the world in singles tennis. With singles titles victories including the U.S. Open and Wimbledon men’s singles titles, U.S. Open men’s doubles title, and back-to-back Tennis Masters Cup titles, Lleyton has earned more than 33 titles in his nearly 20-year professional career.

38

GRANT DOYLE DIRECTOR OF TENNIS

Originally from Australia, Grant Doyle has played and coached at the highest level of the game. As a coach, he has worked with several players who made the Association of Tennis Professionals’ top 50 players and has helped many junior players gain full scholarships to top universities including Stanford, University of Southern California, Berkeley, Pepperdine, University of Virginia, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a player, Coach Doyle was ranked No. 1 in the world as a junior and won the Australian Open, the Italian Open, and the French Open doubles. He is also one of the few Australian players that won every national age group from under 12s thru under 18s. After turning professional in 1991, Coach Doyle played on the ATP circuit for 8 years earning wins over several former top 10 players.

39

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY “C’MON AUSSIE!” LLEYTON’S MOTIVATOR BASED ON COURAGE, MOVEMENT, OPPORTUNITY, AND NURTURE.

COURAGE as a tennis player incorporates focus, decisionmaking, and determination to succeed. The application and strength of the mind is fundamental in the one-on-one battle of a tennis match. It is about working hard at every point, being drilled to make the right shot at the right time, the commitment to training, and attaining the most out of yourself.

MOVEMENT and fitness are crucial for a tennis player. Being fitter than an opponent is a huge advantage; being able to move freely and wear down an opponent while still feeling fresh provides both physical and mental superiority. Fitness is solely determined by the athlete and is not reliant on opponents, the type of court, or weather conditions. A fit, healthy body contributes to a fit, healthy mind.

OPPORTUNITIES are important to recognise not only on the court but in life. Having the ability to recognise when an opportunity arises and take advantage of it is a critical state-of-mind for all tennis players. The mental application in tennis is often the difference in achieving success, and we instill the positive thinking, concentration on the task, and ability to analyse and react in our student-athletes.

NURTURE and growth of each student-athlete is an essential part of success. We take into account the well-being of each player and help give them life skills for the future. By providing a structured, disciplined environment, we encourage student-athletes to excel in training, fitness, diet, positive thinking, and academics.

40

TRAINING IN A WORLD-CLASS RACQUET CENTER Student-athletes train and compete on dedicated Windsor High School tennis courts alo ng with six additional lighted Har-Tru tennis courts and hard courts at Albany. An indoor padel tennis facility is on site for those looking to experience a different form of the game for fun.

41

PLAYSIGHT SMART COURTS Precision is an importa nt part of the game. With the latest PlaySight smart court technology, student-athletes can transform their game. The fully interactive technology monitors and tracks all activity on the court and offers professional-level analysis and evaluation tools; taking your game to the next level.

42

UNITED STATES TENNIS ASSOCIATION PARTNERSHIP The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has found a New Home of American Tennis in Lake Nona, a 7,000-acre master-planned community, developed by Tavistock Group. The state-of-the-art facility features 102 courts and houses the USTA’s Community Tennis and P layer Development divisions. Through this partnership, Albany Tennis Academy student-athletes have the opportunity to train and compete against the best of the best through the USTA.

43

44
