Josef Albers: Early Prints At this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach, the Cristea Roberts Gallery will present a specially curated Kabinett of rare and early prints by Josef Albers (1888 - 1976). All of the works on display have been sourced directly from the artist’s Estate, and the influence of Albers and the Bauhaus will be reflected elsewhere on our booth with works by artists such as Michael Craig-Martin, Rana Begum and Ian Davenport.

Christiane Baumgartner Cristea Roberts Gallery is presenting a new five-part woodcut by Christiane Baumgartner, which is without question her most ambitious and substantial work to-date. Baumgartner is best known for monumental woodcuts which are based on her own films and photographs. In recent years, she has utilised images of extreme natural forces as her subject matter including an erupting volcano, a colossal wave and, in this new work, sequential views of a cascading waterfall. Using her own photographs as the source material, each panel is printed by the artist from a meticulously hand-carved woodblock. Her work is held in over 70 public collections worldwide and recent large-scale woodcuts have been acquired by numerous international museums including the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Harvard Art Museums and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
