Associational and Church WMU Directors: You are the only person in your church receiving this newsletter containing information about upcoming Alabama WMU events. PLEASE COPY THESE PAGES, AND GIVE THEM TO THE APPROPRIATE AGE-LEVEL LEADER IN YOUR CHURCH. If you do not have an age-level organization but have members in that age level, they are invited to attend these events, as well. We don’t want you to miss out on anything that might prove helpful in your ministry and uplifting in your daily walk with Jesus! Here are some easy ways to make sure you stay in the loop about what’s happening in WMU and women’s ministry so that you can keep your church on the forefront of all that God is doing:

You may opt-out at any time.

Adults Parish Nurse Training Sessions Alabama WMU and Samford University’s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing sponsor an annual Parish Nurse class to prepare nurses for congregational health ministry. CEUs are awarded upon completion. Attendance at both training sessions is required. *Note date change for session two.

Renew, a day away with friends for women of all ages An environment of spiritual renewal and passion for missions and ministry encompass Renew. In addition to uplifting worship sessions, conference will be available on topics like spiritual discliplines, missions, physical and emotional health and more. Make plans to join us at Renew!

Ministers’ Wives Luncheon Wives of all ministers (pastors, youth ministers, music ministers, directors of missions, etc.) are invited to attend our annual ministers’ wives luncheon held in conjunction with the State Evangelism Conference. The event is complimentary. Seating is limited, however. Therefore, registration is required for the luncheon.

Temporary Child Care Training Alabama WMU’s Temporary Child Care disaster relief ministry provides free childcare during disasters for children from infants through grade 6. This training session will prepare volunteers to serve on a disaster relief team through the ministry of Temporary Child Care.

Students Acteens Activators Training Acteens Activators mission trips allow Acteens to serve alongside North American and international missionaries in a variety of ministries. Applications to serve in the summer of 2013 may be obtained by contacting Erin Bishop or by visiting www.alabamawmu.org.

Student Missions Weekend Student Missions Weekend is an intense missions experience with high-energy worship, Bible study, missionaries and hands-on ministry projects in the local community. Students also hear from young missionaries serving God in exciting places around the world. Reserve your group’s spot now!

COMPLETE, a gathering for girls in grades 7-12 COMPLETE is a weekend devoted to teen girls and their leaders who want to learn more about how to be a godly young woman in an ungodly and fallen world. Held each year in March, COMPLETE will encourage, equip and inspire teen girls to fully embrace the completion only found through a personal relationship with Jesus.

Alabama Challenge Team Challenge Team members are young women who are committed Christ-followers and are actively involved in their churches. They represent Alabama WMU at events and assist with the planning of COMPLETE. They also are eligible for a mission trip scholarship.

Applications Due: May 3, 2013 Who: Girls entering 10th-12th grade or who will be age 15 by Sept. 1, 2013, who are members of an SBC church

WorldSong Summer Missions Camp Staff Applications Don’t miss this unique, potentially life-changing opportunity to impact children and young girls from across Alabama. Begin praying now whether God is leading you or someone you know to become a summer missions camp staffer in 2013. Applications will be available beginning October 2012 on the WorldSong website at www.worldsongretreat.com. Click on the “Camp Staff” tab at the top of the page.

Fall Missions Festival for Children Beijing will be this year’s focus city for the Fall Missions Festival for Children. Children and leaders will hear from missionaries serving in East Asia as well as experience Asian culture through food, customs and other activities led by young adults who love the Lord and have a heart for children and missions. This year, choose between two weekends to attend.

Fall Missions Festival for Adults The Fall Missions Festival for Adults will focus on the fastpaced city of Beijing. You will learn from and interact with missionaries, we’ll pray together, and we’ll enjoy special activites designed to help you better understand the culture and how God is at work in this area of the world. This year, choose between two dates to attend.

Missions Camp 2013 Be on the lookout in January 2013 for the Missions Camp poster advertising our summer 2013 dates. The poster will be mailed to churches and includes great information about why and how to register.
