Established in 2008, the paper provides coverage of local government, school news and social and civic events across the community. Recently, the Standard has gone through a major facelift with redesigned and colored pages. Publisher and Editor Michelle Styron says, the paper stays true to its concept of being a hometown paper by allowing its readers to run birthday, anniversary and engagement announcements for free. They’ve also launched an online site at www.thegreenvillestandard.com. The Greenville Standard newspaper is available on local newsstands and in paper boxes throughout Butler County every Wednesday morning. An in-county subscription is only $25 per year.
