Chapter 1

Introduction to Amadeus Extended Ownership

The Amadeus Extended Ownership package allows you to maintain retrieval and update privileges between entities such as travel agency offices and corporations. Generally, when an agent tries to retrieve data, such as a PNR, that does not belong to his or her office, and for which no security link is established, the system response SECURED PNR is generated. With the Amadeus Extended Ownership package, the security for retrieval and update rights for several applications can be set up upon agreement between the offices. Here are some examples to illustrate why offices or corporations might want to establish agreements: •

The Wagon Lit travel agency chain decides that all Wagon Lit travel agencies need access to each other’s PNR and Amadeus Information Pages briefing pages. This allows them to promote a global presence for world-wide travelers.

The non-IATA Sunshine travel agency in Manchester needs the service of an IATA travel agency to issue tickets. They make the following agreement with Rainbow Travel in Manchester: Sunshine will queue the PNRs to be ticketed, and Rainbow Travel will retrieve each PNR by Record Locator.

An agreement has been reached between Varig and Lufthansa that Lufthansa will be the General Sales Agent for Varig in Russia. Lufthansa in Russia needs to have access to Varig's PNR to be able to work with the PNR.

The Amadeus Extended Ownership package is flexible enough to deal with all those agreements. It can furthermore be delegated who will set up the security, and whether this should be done by the Amadeus security administrator, by a security administrator of a corporation, by an ACO, or by the end user.

Definition of Owner and Receiver An entity (office, corporation, group of offices, or group of corporations) that owns the data is called the Owner. An entity (office, corporation, group of offices, or group of corporations) that receives access rights is called the Receiver. The receiver can access and/or update the owner’s data.

Security Levels The security can be set up on different levels: Level

Description

Country

Offices or corporations in a given country can be specified (the 2-letter ISO country code is used; the decode/encode entry is DCcountryname).

City Code

Offices / corporations in a city can be specified (the 3-letter IATA city or airport code is used; the decode/encode entry is DANcityname).

Corporate Code and Qualifier

Corporations can be specified with their corporate code and qualifier. These two items in the office ID together are called the corporate identifier. See the following pages for a complete list of corporate IDs: GGCORPCODESx GGCORPCODESNUM GGCORPNAMESx

Corporate Qualifier

The security can be defined at the corporate qualifier level.

Common Office Number

Offices can be specified by their office number (the last three characters in the office ID, for example ‘980’ for help desk office ID)

Office Level

Offices can be specified by their complete office ID.

Hierarchy of the Agreements When the system uses the Amadeus Extended Ownership package to apply proper security, it searches for agreements respecting a hierarchy on the owner side and on the receiver side. The system begins looking at the highest level of detail (a complete office ID) and goes down to the lowest level of detail. Whenever it finds an agreement, it stops searching and applies the agreement found. On the owner side, the minimum requirement is that a corporate ID must be present (lowest level (***AX2***/**)). On the receiver side, the lowest level is anybody (*********/**). Note:

An asterisk (*) is the wildcard character in the Amadeus Extended Ownership security package. It replaces any one character of the office ID and country code.

This display shows the agreements between all AF0 offices world-wide as the owner of the data, since AF0 world-wide office agreements include the AF0 offices in France. Line number 0001 indicates that all AF0 offices have an agreement with all LH0 offices in FR (France); lines 0002 - 004 show agreements with all AF0 offices and specific offices (NCE1A0955, MUC1A0701 and PARAX2100).

Displaying the List of Owners The following entry displays the agreements between your office as the receiver, and the owners: EOO System response: EOO-NCE1A0990

You can use the entries EOR and EOO to display a list of receivers or owners for which there are agreements for certain applications. You can request up to five applications in one entry. The system will search for Amadeus Extended Ownership agreements established on the specified application level (for example, PNR retrieval). It is particularly useful when troubleshooting the Amadeus Extended Ownership package as it allows you to analyse the agreements for specific applications. Also, the system response includes the level of access for each agreement under the specified application type column: The following entry displays which agreements are for the PNO, QUE and BRF application IDs: EORMIA1S21K5.PNO.QUE.BRF System response: EORMIA1S21K5

Chapter 4

Updating Amadeus Extended Ownership Agreements

Amadeus Extended Ownership has been designed for corporations to maintain their own agreements, or to delegate this task to their local ACO. Individual offices are allowed to maintain agreements for their own office only, unless they benefit from an Amadeus Extended Ownership agreement on the Amadeus Extended Ownership application ID. At the first stage the updating of Amadeus Extended Ownership agreements is maintained by the Amadeus security administrator. If a corporation wants to maintain their own security and if they have been trained accordingly, the Amadeus security administrator can authorise the security administrator of the corporation to maintain their own agreements. Amadeus will maintain agreements on behalf of small companies that do not want to maintain their own agreements. End-users are able to maintain their own agreements for their individual office (full office ID). This feature is available to users who have the local security attribute ‘EOS’ set to Y in their sign. ACOs however have the possibility to maintain the agreements on behalf of the individual offices. In this case it is possible to restrict end users from maintaining their own agreements. Updating an agreement can either be performed by entering a complete set of parameters (owner, receiver, application identifiers, and the desired access mode), or by accessing guided mode after the display (EOD...) of an agreement.
