Font Designs This book is a picture book of seven distingctive typefaces, Caslon, Baskerville, Didot, Clarendon, Helevetica, Futura, and Seraavek. This book is made with the intention to see the letters as a ‘design.’ To see the unique characteristics and similarities and get familar with each of these seven typefaces.

Baskerville A typeface created by John Beskerville (1706-1775) in Brigham, England, 1750s. It was cut into and punctuated by John Handy.

A group of typefaces named after the famous French printing and type produced by Didot family in 1804.

Clarendon Is an English slab-serif typeface created in England by Robert Besley for the Fann street foundry in 1845.

Helevetica It is also known as Neue haas Grotesk, is a widely used sans-serif typeface developed in 1957 by Max Miedinger, a Swiss designer with input from Eduard Hoffmann.

Futura It was designed by a German typographer Paul Renner in 1927. The geometric sans serif typeface was based on visual elements of the Bauhaus design style of 1919 to 1933.


Seravek Is a sans-serif typeface family designed by Eric Olson and released in 2007. Olson described this font as having a neutral design of “near silence.�
