In March of 2015, Ministry of Culture of Bashkortostan announced the open competition for design of Ancient Ufa Museum on Hillfort Ufa-II archaeological site. The present thesis is participated in it.
The present thesis is the proposal of an alternative project that attempts to overcome the critical points outlined in this study. The actual plan is preceded by a preliminary study on the relationship between archaeology and contemporary architecture and by a close examination of the history and characteristics of the city and the site as well. The direct connection of society with site of collective memory is a significant act of acknowledgment and evidence of collective will of community, of certain attitude towards their past and consequently their future.
