ello Fire Brigade! Well, 2013 is moving right along. We hit the ground running with the first big parade of the year, the annual OV St. Patty’s Day Parade and had a great turn out. The rain couldn’t stop us! We also really enjoyed the Shrine Night with the Norfolk Admirals. We need to stay motivated and keep the momentum going. The fire truck is running strong and we have our go-cart personalized! Lot’s going on so get out there! On an inspirational note, I’d like to mention an article named “Editorial Without Words” at http:// khediveshrine.org/home/editorial-without-words/, the history of the photo that became the iconic figure of a Shriner carrying the child and crutch. The moment was spontaneous and the photographer had so many technical problems that he could only snap one picture. Who would have guessed that just one Noble carrying a child would result in a timeless photograph that has inspired millions? To the late Noble Albert Lanier Hartman, thank you for illustrating the true measure of a Noble and reminding us to maintain our compassion and character even when we think no one is watching. Well done Brother. Let us always live by his example.

Nobles, be sure to stay abreast to our events by reading the emails Bob Travis sends you, checking the Khedive web page and our Facebook page. We are always looking for event pictures too so forward those along! Upcoming Shrine events, to name a few. We have… • Pungo Strawberry Festival: Saturday, May 25th • Spring Ceremonial: Saturday, June 1st • Khedive Annual Rodeo: Saturday, June 15th We are always looking to build our ranks. If you

would like to ride with the best unit around, drop by before one of our monthly meetings or give us a call. We meet the second Tuesday of every month at the Khedive Shrine Center (Rm#7) at 7pm. Fellowship and dinner is served promptly at 6:15. If you haven’t checked out our Facebook page, come on over and “friend” us. Search for us as http://www.facebook.com/khedive.firebrigade. See you online and everywhere else!! As always, it’s for the children because “That’s How We Roll!” Contact Us: Secretary- Robert P.
