Clubs Khedive Shriners

Chesapeake Shrine Club By Secretary Joseph B. Ramsey

oly Mackerel Andy. Were you at the Oyster Roast? Well over 3000 people were. This function has to go down as one of the largest Shrine function in history and I am going back all the way to the Circus in Virginia Beach. With the city of Chesapeake promoting it and the extra television time we put in and 97.3 on Facebook we nailed it. All I can say is great job to all the guys and gals who worked their butts off to make it a success. Throw in an excellent steak dinner at the workers party and it was epic. On with the whirlwind tour ten Past Presidents and the current President converged on Nags Head to be a part of and support PP Alan Cannon`s installation as Chief of the SASA Provost Guard. It was a weekend full of food, fun, fellowship and about ten quarts of smooth apple-pie. Congratulations Alan we are here for you. I am not sure if this will be out in time but May is our Ladies Night with Joe Maniscalco and his steel drums entertaining us. I know, I know you wanted to see the guy stick a screwdriver up his nose but he has a head cold and cannot come. Next stop is June where we are doing double duty. It has been designated Units and Clubs night as well as “Bring a friend night”. So we cordially invite all Club Presidents and Unit Heads to come out a let us know what is happening in your neck of the building. Regarding “Bring a friend“ if you know anyone who is interested in becoming a Shriner or a Mason for that matter bring him out and let`s show him around. It may be just the boost he needs to take the plunge. July is Father/Son/Daughter night please round up all

the youngsters and oldsters in you neighborhood and come on out. Jonathan Austin and his bag of tricks will be entertaining the crowds. We are going back to the old days with good food and good entertainment. I hope to see you there. August is our annual Ladies Night and Crab Feast which is always well received. As you can see there is always something happening the Club and I could go on forever but my single digit pecking finger is cramping so I had better close. Remember your Lodge needs Masons and your Temple needs candidates. Chesapeake Shrine Club meets third Monday of the month, hors d`oeuvres Khedive Temple start at 6:00 and the dinner is at 7:00. We will leave the light on for645 you. Woodlake Dr. AsChesapeake, Always VA 23320 Yours in the Faith, Joe or Ramsey
