Arab Patrol By Captain Jack Ryals

ooking at the calender, it appears we have a very busy quarter. Hope everyone is looking forward to the events coming up. To recap some of the events, in spite of inclement weather we were able to step off on time for the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. This event seems to be getting bigger each year. Many thanks to our Past Potentate, Bill Kerns, for providing a delicious breakfast for the Nobles prior to the Parade. I hope everyone who attended SASA in Greenboro,N.C. and the MASA in Herdon, VA. enjoyed themselves. The Sweetheart Dance and the Potentate’s Ball was enjoyed by all who attended. The Chesapeake Shrine Club Oyster Roast was a big success. It is growing each year. The crowd was busting at the seams. Captain Jack Ryals of the Arab Patrol would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Patrol who helped serve the food at the Chesapeake Oyster Roast. Speaking of Fund Raisers, the Arab Patrol had a Spaghetti Dinner

April 20, it was small but successful. It was the first Fund Raiser the Patrol sponsored in years. Captain Jack Ryals would like to thank the Patrol members who helped sell tickets. Also, special thanks goes to our Past Potentate, Joe Register for cooking the meal for us. We have alot of important events coming up in this quarter, so check your calender. To memtion a few, Norfolk NATO Parade, the Units and Clubs meeting, Khedive Shrine Night at the Races, Holland Parade, Khedive Business Meeting, and don’t forget the Spring Open House and Spring Ceremonial. Last but not least, Nobles check your dues card and if it does not

have 2013 on it, you are past due and should be up dated. As you know dues are our obligation and are necessary to keep our Temple, Clubs, and Units active. We need new members. Speaking of new members, now is the time to invite the new candidates for the Shriners to join our clubs and units. I would like to remind the Patrol members that we meet on the second Monday of the month and invite Nobles who do not belong to a Club or Unit to join us. In closing note that the Patrol will be dark for the month of July. Yours in faith, Captain Jack Ryals
