What a glorious day it would be if a physician chose to heal patients by identifying the root cause of disease instead of prescribing pills to treat symptoms. That’s the concept behind Ellis Integrative Family Practice, which is owned by Gretta Ellis, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). “I provide primary care along with natural approaches to overall health,” Gretta says. She offers food intolerance testing, bioidentical hormone therapy, IV therapy, and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to treat gut health and autoimmune conditions and reduce inflammation. She also offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to treat joint pain. “I love what I do because I get to fix the root cause of illness,” says Gretta, a 2004 graduate of South Sumter High School. “It’s all about our overall health and making lifestyle changes for prevention of disease. Our standard American diet is toxic and is a big factor to illness and the disease process.”
