The Sonoran Desert in Tuscon, Arizona is one of the hottest North American deserts. It has diverse vegetation, including the Saguaro Cactus, and wildlife due to its two rainy seasons. It is hot during the day, with lower temperatures at night.
Adobe is made from a mixture of mud and straw that is dried by the sun.

SCAD Museum of Art Remodel
The objective of this project is to modify the space between the SCAD Museum of Art and Eichberg Hall. The intention is to design in a manner that enhanced water management, shade from heat, and rain coverage. A paved pathway, paved using the historic bricks of the museum ruins, seperates the gathering space from the green space.
A wooden pergula lines the side of the museum to provide partial shade. A turtle pond flanks the pavillion and adds a sense of tranquility to the space. Shallow trenches gather rain runoff to nourish marsh plants.
