About Me With the goal of becoming a better designer. I want to learn from the cultures and techniques here that differ from those in Taiwan. I have approached each new city and country with open vision. As an interior designer, I considered myself to be a generalist. In addition to my considerable requirements for professional interior design, I also focus on the possibilities of building fabrication, materiality and construction methods, and look forward to many innovative architectural designs.

DESIGN STRATEGY A Case Study of Potato The Grand Exchange of potato species

Potatoes of the same species in different generations and cultures which is gradually developed different types.

There were about 350 varieties of potatoes grown in Peru, some of which were toxic.

B.C.800 0~5000

Potatoes were widely grown in Europe. Potatoes became one of the main crops in Ireland.

1650

1660

The poor social conditions pushed rhizoma crop into a dominant position.

1836

Potatoes generally became a substitute for crop failure. The potato was brought back to Europe by the Spaniards and brought to all over the world by explorers and colonists in Europe.

Evolving to a single variety of highly productive potato which has become stabilizes food for the global crop.

聽風 Wind Listener 旅店 Hotel

The tourists can clearly feel the existence of the wind and make it interesting

Academic Project 2013 Type: Architecture and interior design Size : 1,000 sq.m Location: Penghu, Taiwan

Site analysis The terrain of the Penghu Islands is low and flat. It is located in the centre of the Taiwan Strait. Therefore, the climate is affected by rainfall and monsoon. The annual number of strong wind days in Penghu is as high as 100 days. From October to January, the wind speed was maintained at more than 6 meters per second. The average annual rainfall is about 1000 millimeters, 80% concentrated in the summer.

About Taking advantage of the strong winds in Penghu will make it no longer a vague existence and find out the medium that can feel apparently the existence of wind. The tourists can clearly feel the existence of wind and make it interesting. The design of each room continues with bellows form and the six sets of bellows are stacked alternately. As a result, each room has a different layout that designed for a different slope.

DESIGN CONCEPT

Ocarina

Ocarina is the principle of edge tones.Through the holes of different sizes, it can have high and low pitch, forming a beautiful melody.

How An Ocarina Works

Air enters through the windway

Air strikes the labium, producing sound

Air pulses in and out of the ocarina

Covering holes lowers the pitch; uncovering holes raises the pitch.

Making the model test whether sound can be made. As a result, we get the direction and length of the bellows have little effect on the sound. The important thing is how to collect wind and how to create wind pressure.

Type 1

Type 2

Type 3

Type 4

Type 5

In conclusion : Without the bellows, a wind speed of 30m/s is required that can make the sound. After adding the bellows, only 3m/s is required that can make the sound.
