Irricana invites visitors to enjoy Irricana’s Founders Park, Irricana’s Country Murals, the Pioneer Acres Museum, and Irricana’s many annual events. Located on the north side of Irricana is Founder’s Park recreational area, complete with a well treed campground and boasting clean and modern washrooms/shower facilities and serviced camping stalls. The campground is open April to October and has on-sight campground management. Also in the park are ball diamonds, rodeo grounds, a playground, horseshoe pits, walking and cycling paths, a camp kitchen and Irricana’s Community Hall. A short walk from Founder’s park takes you to the country murals painted by a variety of artists and community volunteers. Probably one of the most well know events in the area is the Pioneer Acres Plowmen and Threshermens Club Annual show held the second weekend in August. This event is held in the Pioneer Acres Museum site, open in from the May long weekend to the Labour Day
weekend in September. This site is located directly north of Irricana. The show depicts operational antique equipment and numerous displays including the “Long” home donated and moved into Pioneer Acres in 1993 and the “Ellingham Crown School” moved into Pioneer Acres in 1996. Irricana most popular event, re-named in 2013 as the Irricana Summer Fair, is held annually each July and hosts a breakfast, parade, car exhibit, kids activities, ball tournaments, cabaret and much more. Other annual events include Irricana’s Winter festival (January/February), Pitch-In (May), the Terry Fox Run (September), the Community Christmas Concert (December).
