The Alberta 4-H program The 4-H program offers summer and winter camps, exchange trips, junior leader opportunities, social activities, and many chances to make new friends. There are great volunteer opportunities for adult leaders with leader training and certification, award trips and conferences. Opportunities for members and leaders are available at club, district, regional, provincial and national levels. There are 15 clubs in the Rockyview 4-H District with five clubs serving Airdrie: The Alberta 4-H Youth Program is open to urban and rural youth between the ages of 9 and 20 years. Depending on the type of 4-H club, members may pursue a variety of projects from horse, canine, sheep, beef, rabbit, computer, foods, clothing, crafts, drama and small engines just to name a few. Members “learn to do by doing” through hands on learning completing a project each year. As well as completing a 4-H project each year members learn parliamentary procedures and valuable life skills. Great emphasis is put on communications with public speaking or presentations at all age levels.
