With its slogan „Leading Innovation“, TOSHIBA is in line with the nature since the year one with its production and product application. What would 2018’s motto of AIR-COND „Love is in the air“ mean, if the air was not clean and utilizable for many more generations to come?

R32 entails a lot of advantages: its high ability to transfer heat load, its conformity with the latest EU legislation and, last but not least, its attractive world market price assure R32 a brilliant future. Especially the energetic factor has OH BABY a major impact, because 50% of EU’s overall energy consumption is caused by heating and cooling. Compared to R410A, R32 persuades with higher efficiency, lower filling quantities of up to 30% and a lower power consumption.

Of course, we understand the insecurities you are facing regarding the changeover of the refrigerant, however, R32 is a much more efficient alternative compared to conventional refrigerants and saves the environment due to a more economical consumption of resources. – Everybody is to some extent responsible for the future of our Blue Planet and for saving it for the next generations.

Therefore, we at AIR-COND and TOSHIBA decided to put all focus on R32. Wherever there are R32 products available, we will push them.

Follow this path with us together and help us to quickly convert to the more environmentally friendly refrigerant R32. We are looking forward to a sparkling collaboration and love in the air.

The World of

Energy efficiency and CO2 reduction were central topics on the MCE. Therefore, the focus of the product novelties was on R32. This was also true for the TOSHIBA booth.

TOSHIBA Italia represented, next to its R32 product range, the new Daiseikai 9 features and the ESTIA domestic hot water pump.

MOSTRA CONVEGNO The MCE Mostra Convegno Expocomfort is THE international exhibition for heating, cooling, ventilation and sanitary engineering, bathroom accessories, domestic hot water preparation as well as renewable energies.

This spring the MCE took place from 13th until 16th March in Milano.

It offers a broad overview of all innovations from these areas and its applications in new constructions as well as for renovations. Plus, it focuses on trends regarding energy efficiency. The Mostra Convegno brings together supply and demand on a high level and offers industry experts to exchange knowledge and experiences. In total the event organizers welcomed about 1,600 exhibitors from 52 countries and 150,000 visitors from all over the world on 4 fair days on the MCE.

DOM - Nix

Being present on trade fairs and kick offs belong to every successful season start of TOSHIBA. Therefore, also this spring TOSHIBA was represented on several fairs, nationally as well as internationally. In Austria, for example, company Klötzl exhibited on the Häuslbauermesse in Graz, Klagenfurt and St. Pölten. Additionally, TOSHIBA was excellently represented by our partners Bernhard Kinzl, TWS and Kühlanlagen Postl on the Bauen & Energie in Vienna, on the Baumesse in Oberwart and the HausBau & EnergieSparen Tulln.

We were also enlighted by the brand presence of our partner Klima Classic on AquaTherm in Prague, Airtrend and Grappa on the KGH in Belgrade, Vitanest and Nix on DOM in Ljubljana and MSD Company on Coneco in Bratislava.

Technic Trainings 2018

Seminar - Klima Classic

In February and March 2018 almost 500 participants were trained in terms of product novelties and their technical characteristics in the Energy Savings House 2 and the castle Rabenstein.

The technical training covers the whole product line up of TOSHIBA. Home, ESTIA & Monobloc, Business, Controls and Dynadoc Solutions. Under the direction of Markus Pichler, complex technical issues were discussed and solutions were developped.

Our new team member Marko Pribanić was introduced to our Austrian and Export partners. Marko supports the technical team since February 2018.

As already known from the last years and to loosen up the daily program, in the evening a billiard tournament took place.

ESTIA MONO DHW

TOSHIBA’s air-to-water heat pump family ESTIA is growing – the new domestic hot water heat pump models promise a considerable enhancement for the product portfolio.

Next to efficient hot water preparation with energy from the air through heat pump technology, also domestic hot water preparation is in vogue. TOSHIBA’s “leading innovation“ philosophy cuts through a new generation of compact air-to-water heat pumps – manifold, efficient, comfortable and easy to use.

If the installation site should not be chilled down, free air intake is possible, the cooled down exhaust air, however, is transported to the outside – vice versa also outside air intake is possible. Moreover, it is especially tricky to use the Monobloc heat pump as a part of a controlled domestic ventilation. If, for example, the exhaust air from the bathroom or kitchen is supplied via the suction, these areas of the house can be effectively dehumidified. This optimizes the room climate and prevents mold formation.

enerally, the compact water heaters are available in four versions. One standard version plus three varieties – each with 190 or 260 liters tank volume. All versions follow the same basis concept: one casing with only 62 cm diameter and a height of 160 cm (190 ltr, 196 cm for 260 ltr. version) accommodates all components which are necessary for domestic hot water preparation and storage. The heat source ambient air is brought in on the upper side via a 16 cm pipe connection. In the cooled down state the air leaves the unit via a flange with the same diameter.

Beneath lies the heart of the heat pump with its integrated storage tank, which powers up with A+ class efficiency. In hard facts, this means that a COP of up to 4,20 at an air temperature of +20 °C is achieved, at +7 °C the COP still reaches 3,69 (according to EN16147). Furthermore, best values are delivered with regard to its operating noise level – only 32,0 0 dB(A) in a distance of 2 meters can be measured.

TOSHIBA air-to-water heat pumps, which carry the quality name ESTIA for more than nine years now, of course, offer more than simple hot water preparation.

For example, the application flexibility of the new Monobloc heat pump is versatile: without any air connection pipes, the unit functions as room cooling unit through the ambient temperature.

Everyone who decides in favor of the two Deluxe PCB versions, can profit double through the usage of sun energy: the Smart Grid capability of the TOSHIBA system enables the processing of the excess signal of an photovoltaic system – this is smart because this way hot water can be prepared with inhouse power. Furthermore, another version with an additional heat exchanger is available. For those who are already using a thermic solar system, this can be comfortably integrated in the domestic hot water preparation and storage system via the additional heat exchanger.

With regard to control options, the new Monobloc heat pumps are also receptive. Via the standard modbus interface, the connection to bus systems is possible – smart homes welcome! The comfortable integrated control interface with intuitive icons of all relevant parameters is easy to use for end users and installers.

Also, the control of external components such as a water pump or air damper are possible.

In total a mature and rounded product line, which perfectly suits today’s trends. – Economical as well as highly efficient usage of ambient energy to prepare hot water, flexible installation and versatile application options, receptive to integration with additional systems.

Next to the built-in technologies, the compact TOSHIBA domestic hot water heat pump also offers an attractive side effect with its small space requirement. How would you like the idea of having a fitness room or a home cinema instead of a room with all the heating equipment?

JAPAN

Together with our customers, we visited Japan in January 2018.

On 28th January 2018, together with 19 partner companies, AIRCOND started the trip to Japan to discover the homeland of TOSHIBA. This island state, situated in the Nordic Pacific Ocean and the east rim of the Asiatic continent, offers next to numerous sights also a stunning landscape. Japan is one of the most densely populated countries on earth with 128 million people living on 378,000 m² land area.

Amongst others, the Yebisu beer museum, the Tsukiji Outer Fish Market and the Tokyo Sky Tree have been visited. The 634 m high radio tower, situated in the district of Oshiage, belongs to the new sights of Tokyo. Not only the construction but also the interior of the tower shows the specific style of Tokyo. The Ginza shopping district, in the well-known district of Chūō, impresses with a variety of restaurants, theaters, shopping centers, night clubs and hotels.

We did not only visit the attractions of Tokyo, but the participants could also demonstrate their abilities for fishing in a “Make your own sushi” course at the Izakaya seafood dinner. The highlight of the Japan trip was the visit of the TOSHIBA Carrier Corporation (TCC). Not only the TCC headquarter with its popular TOSHIBA Science museum has been visited in Kawasaki, but also the production site in Shin Fuji.

A traditional Teppanyaki farewell dinner made for a perfect completion of this journey. In order to thank all participating companies for their long-lasting cooperation, they received our much-loved awards.

PRODUCT TRAINING 2018 “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Under this quote of Benjamin Franklin, this year’s product trainings were held in April 2018.

In total a number of approximately 260 participants were trained in Vienna and Zagreb with regards to TOSHIBA’s new product lineup. Focus of this training was definitely the recent and necessary changeover to refrigerant R32.

What would 2018’s motto of AIR-COND „Love is in the air“ mean, if the air was not clean and utilizable for many more generations to come? The new split products for the home and RAV segment commit themselves to this motto. A 70% lower global warming potential multiplied by 30% less refrigerant charge equals in a CO2 equivalent which is only one quarter compared to a R410A system.

In 2018 many new R32 products join TOSHIBA’s product assortment. The whole HOME single split segment will entirely be changed to R32, followed by multi split units. Similarly, in the second quarter also business products from the RAV segment will arrive with the refrigerant R32.

We are looking forward to your numerous orders of R32 products and are happy that together we can contribute to preserving our planet for future generations.

After a very long and cold winter, also the TOSHIBA bear awakened. It is indeed odd that in our climate region the season “spring”, like we knew it from our childhood with weeks of temperatures around 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, does not exist any longer.

From freezing days, the weather quickly changes to hot sunny days. Of course, hot days are welcome in our branch and benefit our business, however, we should be a bit worried about our planet Earth. Regarding the plentitude of reports regarding global warming, one starts wondering: Is it a natural process over centuries? Or is it the human being who gradually destroys our planet? One thing is for sure, we all have the responsibility to respect and carefully interact with the environment. That is especially why we, the TOSHIBA family, welcome the EU legislation of the last years to prohibit the import of units which, in terms of efficiency, are not satisfactory.

TOSHIBA had always been and is still a pioneer in terms of energy efficiency. Therefore, TOSHIBA is well prepared for the phase down of greenhouse gases. Products with R32 with less refrigerant charge are available. As we at AIR-COND take our responsibility very seriously, we change over to the new generation of products, wherever they are available and thus fulfill the quota system of the EU. In this case the EU introduced a law which does not have any

loopholes and has to be obeyed. If legislation would be that strict in all areas, we would reach climate goals much earlier. In reality, there are still many badly insulated houses with insufficient thermic restoration and what is even worse is the dirt that leaves our chimneys due to fossil fuels.

However, TOSHIBA assumes its responsibility and sells highly efficient units and offers alternative heating systems with heat pumps, uses refrigerants with a low GWP, complies with legislation and much more in order to save our environment.
