CELTRONIC Wednesday 26th- Sunday 30th June Tickets: TBC

The frantic world of a doctors' common room comes alive in this fast paced comedy by the legendary Ray Cooney.

The Playhouse are delighted to host a number of events for Celtronic, Ireland’s premier electronic music festival.

Dr David Mortimore is preparing to give the annual Ponsonby lecture which he is reliably informed could lead to a Knighthood. However Dr Mortimore's morning turns to chaos when he receives a surprising visitor, former colleague Nurse Jane Tate. Ms Tate has an even bigger surprise for the leading physician, a son, and now David has to creatively come up with a plan prevent the truth from spilling out.

The festival showcases the best in all forms of electronic music, involving local, national and international DJ’s and live acts and is one of the most forward-thinking events of its kind in our cultural calendar. Past performers at the festival include Carl Craig, Joris Voorn, Jon Hopkins, Todd Terje, David Holmes, Dave Clarke, Ulrich Schnauss, Erol Alkan, Scuba, Andrew Weatherall, Annie Mac and Mary Anne Hobbs.

This laugh a minute comedy with its colourful mix of doctors, nurses, "neurotic animals", police sergeants was first performed by Pettigo’s Borderline Players group in 2003.

servants’ lives, civil punishment, 18th century recipes, and customs of the privileged classes in Northern Ireland. While much is unknown, The Cook is an imaginative treatment of the year before the execution and what led Cecily Jackson to her death. By Georgia Rhoades Directed by Dennis Bohr
