We are a fast-growing international law firm with close to 400 partners, more than 1,700 lawyers and over 2,500 people across the UK (headquarters in London), continental Europe (Paris and Munich), the Middle East (Istanbul, Doha and Dubai) and Asia Pacific (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne). We are organised and resourced to help our clients, wherever they are in the world.
In Paris, our 40 lawyers, including 12 partners, combine their knowledge of the French market with an international vision. They offer commercial and corporate legal services, both on contentious and non-contentious matters to multinational blue chips, SMEs, banks and funds investing and operating across Europe and to French clients on their regional and international projects. Our Paris team have gained considerable experience assisting their clients, mostly from the Manufacturing, Technology, Infrastructure and Energy sectors on both French and cross border legal and commercial transactions, in particular with European, American and Asian clients. We are involved at all stages of the clients’ transactions and investment cycles, in particular mid-cap and we gather all the required practices to do so in a comprehensive way: M&A, private equity, capital markets, banking and finance, restructuring, real estate, tax , employment, intellectual property, information technology, projects and international arbitration and disputes. The French Corporate and M&A team works in an integrated way within an international group of more than 300 corporate lawyers located in our global offices, all with strong sectorial expertise and experience of highly complex transactions. Personally, I am involved at three different levels: as managing partner of our operations and business in France, I work on our Paris office strategy and offering, in line with our global aspirations. I am also the senior representative of Pinsent Masons France both inside and outside the firm. As co-head of the French Corporate / M&A practice and member of our global transactional services leadership team, I liaise with the other international corporate heads on a regular basis. As such I am involved in setting and implementing the strategy of our global transactional business and facilitating client development across offices. As Corporate / M&A Partner and triple qualified German Rechtsanwalt, French Avocat and English Solicitor, I am finally also on the ground dealing with client matters and transactions, joint ventures, usually in a cross border context. In terms of our legal approach in Paris we are the size of a boutique firm, with the backing of a major global structure. This allows us to provide premium advice whilst having a close relationship with our clients. Partners deal directly with their clients and are all very hands on their matters. We keep track of our work for clients, so that wherever a client has been advised, our office will know its habits and

specific needs. Our sectorial approach also helps us to know the type of issues faced by a business. Generally, providing tailored services at a reasonable price is at the core of our business model. We provide our clients with unique products that make their lives easier: Smart Delivery, for instance, allows us to control costs through a series of tools and processes tailored to clients’ needs and profiles, which together achieves accuracy and consistency of delivery and speed. We recently acquired Cerico, a company providing clients with a bespoke platform offering to monitor all compliance issues. These innovations and distinct approach to providing legal services were recognized by the Financial Times in honouring us with the “Most innovative law firm award 2015”. In Paris, what sets us apart is our particular knowledge of cross-border transactions, in particular Franco-German, Franco-English and FrancoAmerican as well as extensive experience with deals in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Our financial performance has grown consistently since we first opened in Paris three years ago. We have doubled the number of our fee earners since opening in 2012 and tripled our turnover since then. Overall, Pinsent Masons reported revenues of 362M GBP in the last financial year. In the M&A market we have noticed a resumption of large cap transactions and believe that, coupled with the cash available in companies, this should stimulate small and mid-cap transactions as well. We also believe that resumption of M&A activity in the US and the UK and the robustness of those economies should be reflected in France with the usual time delay. Our firm constantly completes its offering in line with the client’s expectations, whether in terms of legal advice or products, listening to and at times setting the market’s trends in order to be ready when demand increases and clients are willing to invest. With roots tracing back to Victorian England, our firm developed a series of local and strategic mergers, to expand its offering both geographically and in terms of expertise, gaining weight in the market. In addition, we have a proud history of organic growth and the successful setting up of new offices, including Paris. We have always been bold in the pursuit of innovation to solve our clients’ commercial challenges and have cultivated strong connections across our business.
