CEO’s Note “The last year has been about establishing AIESEC Jalandhar in both Jalandhar & Ludhiana. We have been quite successful in doing that and I am grateful to everyone who have contributed to this phenomenon. We are at a stage where we need to capitalize on our growth & increase our scale of operations. The Last Quarter has been all about doing the above mentioned. We have successfully added some Premier educational institutions from Jalandhar& Ludhiana to the list of our clients which already included clients like Lovely Professional University which has been our base since our inception in 2009, Phagwara Environment association which has helped us with social Projects & Lajwanti Educational Services, to mention some of them. The contribution and support from our stakeholders have been of immense value. With this support, AIESEC in Jalandhar aims to deliver the message of youth leadership & responsibility. I see AIESEC in Jalandhar closely working with all sectors of the society to generate the required Impact to fulfill our Vision. Nishank Patel CEO

AIESEC in Jalandhar Projects PROJECT CONSERVE Conserve, an AIESEC in Jalandhar initiative, aims at making a difference as far as the global environmental sustainability issue. As members of an international student-run organization with its roots in such a large number of countries around the world, as well as globally aware citizens of the twenty-first century, we believe the time has come to take a stand. Project Conserve aims at the dissemination of knowledge and awareness about this cause amongst the population of Jalandhar in the state of Punjab, which is one of the most lush states in the country as far as green cover is concerned. Conserve is a one-of-a-kind nationalized project. We want to be able to reach out to all sorts of people, of every age and gender and color, in order to be able to make a difference in their thinking, so that they someday make a difference to, and in, our world. PROJECT FOOTPRINTS Children's rights are the human rights of children with particular attention to the rights of special protection and care afforded to the young, including their right to association with both biological parents, human identity as well as the basic needs for food, universal state-paid education, health care and criminal laws appropriate for the age and development of the child. Interpretations of children's rights range from allowing children the capacity for autonomous action to the enforcement of children being physically, mentally and emotionally free from abuse, though what constitutes "abuse" is a matter of debate. Other definitions include the rights to care and nurturing. “Helping the underprivileged children and imparting skills to them which will enable them to excel in life and to motivate them to confront the situation through collective action thereby giving the child and themselves an opportunity to realize their full potential AIESEC gave me an opportunity to interact with people all across the globe, partner with companies and NGOs while serving as the Vice-President Business Development at an age of 20 and GO on an internship to Mexico to teach robotics to college students! Rarely would you come across an organization so dynamic and vibrant that gives you a chance to Interact. Learn. Teach within a span of 2 years. AIESEC Experience truly creates leaders for tomorrow and brings the change that the world needs. I am a part of The Legacy, Now it’s your Turn!

When Akshay mentioned about AIESEC it was greek to us, but when we learnt from one of our Uncles who has been part of the AIESEC movement when we was a student in London School of Economics way back in early fifties and moved on to become a Professor with CMU Michigan USA with a post doc degree in Economics. We realized the programme is good & would like our son also be part of such movement, hence Akshay is part of AIESEC in LPU. A typical parent & child tussle is even there today & the best we realized that certain space needs to be given for him to grow. There are certain aspects of his traits has seen to have undergone a tremendous turnaround obviously for the good only ever since His personality has undergone a very big change, he is now a very confident person willing to face the adversary of the world outside. Understands his role as an individual & as a responsible individual is willing to take up professional challenges which we observed. His analytical skills development is being seen a big change apart from other soft skills enhancement. It has been a perfect grooming for Akshay.

I Dinesh Gupta, initiated a Project Footprints with AIESEC in Jalandhar. The project came out to be a huge success and the interns performed really well. The project was about Child Rights, the two interns Sofia from Sweden and Nahoko from Japan went throughout the city educating people on child rights. The interns first went to various shops and departmental stores and collected data and held a survey on Child rights later they went and gave sessions on various places. The project which was for 6 weeks helped the city in realizing the problem. And I am sure this small little contribution would lead to greater impact in the coming time.
