9th Street Corridor

The 9th Street Corridor project was one with walkability challenges that echos throughout the city of Lawrence in Kansas. This specific corridor extends from 9th Street between Vermont and New Hampshire Street. The corridor hosts the busiest street and the business district of the city, “Mass Street where a lack of fluiduity and open pedestrian flow is lacking. A redevelopment of an existing parking lot, and an addition of multiple entrances from the newly constructed park that replaces the existing parking lot, therefore minimizing vehicle traffic and creating more oppurtunities for pedestrian traffic and a walkability enviornment. The persona of the new structure is one that is very familiar to the city and the campus that lives within it. University of Kansas is known for its hillsides and elevatons, which is used as a medium around the city to get around, and that is exactly what is mimicked in this structure.

VIRTUAL DESIGN CONSTRUCTION Operational Modeling

Virtual Design Construction encompass every phase from planning through construction and operations. It simulates the processes, data and geometry of a building or infrastructure, essentially creating a ‘virtual’ project ahead of actual construction. With various cutting-edge software tools, it enables the construction team to analyze, visualize and communicate building information so the entire project team is able to make better-informed decisions. As was this project with McCarthy that helped visualize all penetrations running through the walls that were needing seismic rennovations.

Community work is very important to me, and I believe in that everyone has something to offer. With my love for sports and graphic design branding, I took the initiation of myself to brand all the sports activites and leagues within our community. That allowed us to advertise for sponsors and to embed a personal touch into our memories and around other communities.
