The main concept was to design a user experience that alternates between outdoor and indoor, darkness and light in order to arrive finally to the top of the tank which overlooks the area. This alteration commemorates the war and peace periods that have passed on this land. 03. UNIVERSITY PROJECTS 12. The Japanese Pavilion Date: 2013 - 5th year Architecture Course: Japanese Concepts of Space Design Statement: The pavilion functions as a public park as well as an art gallery. It is embedded mostly underground with a terraced typology. The concept was to prioritize or at least equalize the importance of the space and the displayed artworks. As opposed to most museums, in which we tend to forget the space and focus only on the art, the intersection of the maze with a few steps at each level, forces the visitors to keep track of their journey through the pavilion. Also, the composition of a full mental image of the pavilion, over several visits, will allow the users to navigate more easily, avoid dead ends, and get to the hidden passages. A central buffer zone (engawa), which serves as an intermediate space between the inside and the outside, along with the degraded facades, allow for natural lighting and ventilation. Softwares Used: 3DMax, Vray, Autocad, Photoshop

03. UNIVERSITY PROJECTS 13. The Revival of the Train Station Date: 2013 - 5th year Architecture Course: Final Project Design and Research Design Statement: How can architecture preserve, recycle, and intervene in order to revive an abandoned landmark that was once a vital part of the city. The proposal was to create a functional public development by designing an elevated light structure that holds most of the project’s functions, in an attempt to preserve the landscape. The green area and the bus parking were re-designed to create public green spaces with pedestrian and bicycle tracks that connect and stitch the residential to the industrial part of the city. The old train station’s buildings were re-adapted to create a museum and an exhibition space. The old non-functional buses in the junk-yard were recycled to serve as physical spaces inhabiting several functions (sleeping, eating, meditating, reading, markets...). Program: Library, Kids Playground, Yoga and health center, Bicycle workshop, Public Kitchen, Market Space, Cafeterias, Studio residential units, Paintball Arena Softwares Used: 3DMax, Vray, Autocad, Photoshop
