developing character in every student. Founded in 1987 in Meraux, Louisiana, the school was relocated to Covington in 2008 as a result of damage from Hurricane Katrina. With a maximum enrollment of 550 students, the school is large enough to provide a broad college preparatory curriculum and extracurricular programs, while still fostering a family-like environment where young men and women find the inspiration to grow – spiritually, intellectually, and physically.

Christian Service As a Catholic high school, our mission is to provide education, not just in the academic world, but also in the faith and teachings of Jesus Christ. Supervised by the school’s Campus Minister, the Christian Service program is designed to help students develop compassion, understanding, and a commitment to others. Group service projects are organized throughout the year and individual opportunities are widely available.

Encountering God through Study, Service, and Sacraments The spiritual formation of our young men and women is central to Archbishop Hannan High School’s mission. The Theology and Campus Ministry Departments work closely to provide students the opportunity to grow in their faith and respond to the call of Jesus Christ. The theology curriculum is designed to instill in each student a thorough understanding of Scripture, Church history, the Catholic faith and morality. Through its programs, the Campus Ministry office enables students to deepen their relationship with Christ and appreciate their Christian call to service. Some of the many Campus Ministry programs available to students include the following:

Course work is designed to develop critical thinking and creative problemsolving skills. Students are challenged to achieve personally and academically because teachers have personal knowledge of, care for, and close rapport with their students. Archbishop Hannan recognizes the importance of educating the whole person. The school seeks the fullest possible development of every dimension of its students.
