LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT It all started as a small group of women getting together to socialize, that shared a common culture. And this group of women wanted to do more. They wanted to serve their community. And they saw a need. This is how AHAM came to fruition. An organization that wanted to help young Hispanics reach their dreams, promoting higher education among high school students of Hispanic descent, through educational scholarships in the Upstate of SC. In 1999, 1 scholarship was handed out with a value of $1,000. To date, $369,800 has been awarded, impacting 147 students. 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. I admire the strength of all of our community. We have been able to see that we are strong and that we can adapt to a new normal of life, that we can still come together as a community and help those in need. This year has been our best year yet. Thank you to everyone that has supported us over the years. We strongly believe in our mission & we are always striving to do better to support the Hispanic community each year. Sincerely,

Vanessa Campana

2020 IN REVIEW

COVID ASSISTANCE AHAM joined forces with several organizations of the local community, including United Way of Greenville County, Greer Relief, & our amazing community volunteers to bring 300+ food baskets to people’s doorsteps & various locations in Greenville County. We were committed since the beginning of this pandemic to not only support the main mission of raising funds for Hispanic students, but to support our community because we saw a great need.

2020 IN REVIEW HISPANIC HERITAGE FESTIVAL 3 days, 15 countries represented - our 1st ever virtual Hispanic Heritage Festival, but 21 years strong. In a matter of a few weeks, with everyone’s contributions and desire to serve the community, we were able to make the festival a hit! The members of AHAM, the executive committee, and volunteers worked day and night to make this project a reality. Everyone joined forces and along the way, more volunteers joined them.

"La unión hace la fuerza" Everyone's positive attitude allowed us to continue working for our students, in order to offer them more support for furthering their education.

HOLIDAY BAZAAR We ventured into new territory time and time again in 2020 and with the support of the community, our 1st Holiday Bazaar came to fruition. We were able to showcase the many gifts of the local community through the many diverse vendors that participated. We were able to come together once again as a community, in a safe environment, and lift our Christmas spirit, while raising funds for our students. 8
