PROVOCATION -Children went on a drive to observe and reflected by drawing signs and symbols they saw.
MAKING MINDMAPS of the areas where signs and symbols are used and their different functions were made after brainstorming using thinking skills and reflecting on prior knowledge.
MEANING OF FLAGS AND LOGOS Children researched to inquire into the form and reflect about the meaning of the colours, symbols and images used in flags of different countries and popular logos. They learnt the function of these in communicating meaning.
MY SYMBOL The children used their creativity to make a symbol to represent themselves and reflected to use effective colours, symbols and images to communicate about themselves
FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT Children worked on the signs and symbols for roads. They depicted the meaning of symbols by creating models . Their self management skills evolved in this task.
FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT- Students created symbols and logos wherein they were asked to choose any one colour, shape and an animal with reasoning.
Students interviewed their family members , wrote different words in family languages and shared with their peer group . This helped them understand ways of communication
SYMBOLS IN MATHEMATICS Children reflected on symbols that are used in mathematics– numerals and mathematical operations.
Students created practice sheets based on different concepts of English and Math for peer assessment.
HINDI- Story presentation and practice work on ‘vilom shabd’
Language- Revisited Homonyms , abstract nouns and adjectives
MATHS-Students represented given information in form of pictographs, they created symbols for different toys
Students compared 2D and 3D shapes through a Venn diagram. They observed different 3D shapes, identified and learnt terms like faces, edges and vertices.
Students created symbols using clay in the pottery class
Art class- Designed logos for self and depicted winter season
