mentary photographer (with his series The U Nováků Gambling Room and The Reduta Jazz Club) and his bold approach to form. He is known for, among other things, his documentation of pre-war Czech architecture, his work on the Czech People portrait series, his photos of Brittany (made after travel restrictions on Czechs were lifted with the changes of late 1989), and his On the Road series. His previous solo exhibition was organized by Anna Fárová in 1980. With the current retrospective, Jan Malý is thus presenting his works to the public for the first time in 33 years. The exhibition becomes a library of shifted meanings and unpronounced words, derived both from the structure of language, www.artguideeast.org
