Improvisation on Scripted Material - How, Where and When to Improvise in a Commercial Audition Special Guest: David Murphy Freelance Casting Director and Improv Teacher 6 - 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 28 (more details and RSVP information below)
March of the Unemployed Historical Reenactment March 6 In honor of the 150th anniversary of Jane Addams' birth and Hull House's continued commitment to social and public policies, Pocket Guide to Hell Tours will stage a reenactment of the 1915 Hunger Procession to recognize the 1,500 men, women and children who marched from Hull House to petition City Hall to address Chicago's high unemployment rate. With the city's current unemployment rate hovering around 10.5 percent, which is higher than it was in 1915, this is an opportune moment to remember the efforts of past Chicagoans to respond to this challenge. The reenactment will celebrate and commemorate the courage of activists like Lucy Parsons (played by Chicago SAG council member Alma Washington), Irwin St. John Tucker and Jane Addams. The march will follow the original route along Halsted from Polk to Madison. 2 - 5 p.m., Sunday, March 6 800 S. Halsted St., Chicago, IL 60607 More information is available online or call (312) 413-5353.
