The northern part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area amalgamates with the Serengeti National Park in the grassland and woodland region called Ndutu Plains. These plains fall in the annual migratory route of the Great Migration.
From December to March, the Ndutu Plains in southern Serengeti is an epicentre of migration. The plains witness wildebeest calving season during this time when large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope give birth to their young ones. As the weak and vulnerable start taking their first step, they are spotted by the predators of the plains who feast upon them.
Thus, this place is a favourite to witness some exciting predator hunting behaviours. Are you planning to experience the calving season of the Great wildebeest migration?
