Mr. Ovide Duncantell Sunrise August 7, 1936 Sunset October 25, 2018 Originally from the parish seat of Natchitoches, Duncantell served in the United States Air Force before making Houston his home. Houston as it was known has never been the same since his transition here. He established the Black Heritage Sociey, was the founder of the country’s first parade ever to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and was the driving force behind the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Project - Houston.
