Our Mission and Vision:

Founded in 1945, The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida has spent more than 70 years serving as an advocate and resource committed to fostering economic success and empowering Central Florida businesses through improved corporate sensitivity and business responsibility. One of the biggest advantages of being affiliated with the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida is the camaraderie. GOALS AND PRIORITIES

The Chamber currently serves a variety of members, most of whom are African American business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, and other professionals in a wide swath of industries, from hospitality to higher education. Our Goal and Priority is serving current and future members, increasing the Chamber’s footprint as the leading voice for black businesses, and engaging the next generation of entrepreneurs and executives. The Chamber is uniquely situated to serve the increasing numbers of African Americans who are building a new business, starting careers, or expanding their scope and presence in the Central Florida area. Orlando was recently ranked by Forbes as seventh in the top twenty-five metropolitan areas for African Americans*, the Chamber is poised for impressive growth in both revenue, reach, and recruitment. Forbes ranking based on homeownership, entrepreneurship, as measured by the self-employed rate, and median household income data from 2013.

FIVE KEY AREAS FOR GROWTH, IMPROVEMENT, AND ENRICHMENT Membership Recruitment and Retention • Create a stronger, more engaged membership base through aggressive marketing and increased social and media awareness • Dedicated additional staff to membership enrollment and services • Highlight value-added benefits to encourage potential corporate and entrepreneurial members Business and Workforce Development • Increase awareness of leadership, entrepreneurial, and educational support • Create a network of suppliers and other business support elements • Initiate a Leadership Academy to foster new business and educate young adults Economic Empowerment • Promote and expand opportunities for African American businesses • Evaluate the creation of a Central Florida Black Business Directory • Identify mechanisms to track successful networking and business opportunities among members

Event & Program Highlights

EAGLE AWARDS - vAs the signature event of the African American Chamber of Commerce, the Eagle Awards are the Chamber’s crowning celebration for Central Florida’s most dynamic businesses and entrepreneurs. This annual event, held in January, is a culmination of the accomplishments, and achievements of the year past.The Eagle Awards serve as a time to recognize and honor the corporations positively impacting our community and driving the growth and development of our vibrant and diverse business landscape. The Eagle Awards serve as the primary fundraising event of the year. URBAN ENTREPRENEUR ROUNDTABLE (UER) - This highly successful, themed event gives attendees the chance to learn from Central Florida’s top business owners and innovative entrepreneurs. The goal of Urban Entrepreneur Roundtable is for attendees to gain better understanding of business best practices and pathways to success from individuals with experience. During the course of this popular event, attendees have the opportunity to network with a diverse group of area business leaders, investors and entrepreneurs. BREAKFAST WITH THE PRESIDENT - This event consists of networking, a membership benefits overview, program & events highlights and member-to-member introductions. Bring your business cards, prepare your 30-second elevator pitch and prepare to be a part of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Economic Ecosystem.

EMPOWERMENT LUNCHEON - The AACCCF’s Empowerment Luncheon is designed to engage, enlighten, and empower attendees through a series of inspirational keynote speakers. Past speakers have included luminaries from such fields as professional sports, the arts, business, and government. It is an opportunity for attendees to mix and mingle with entrepreneurs, corporate partners and other community stakeholders. NETWORKING/SOCIAL FUNCTIONS - These events are scheduled bi-monthly, they are open to the public, free for members with a nominal charge for non-members. An example of this event would be our Business After Hours. Typically, the AACCCF will collaborate with Corporate Partners and Trustees to sponsor these events at their location. THE STATE OF THE CHAMBER - The State of the Chamber is an annual opportunity to hear about the growth and progress of the Chamber, as well as get an idea of great things to come.

Serve as the foundation of the AACCCF Economic Ecosystem, engaging in member growth and sustainability.

WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS - These events are scheduled on a monthly basis. They are open to the public, free for members with a nominal charge for nonmembers. They generally fall in line with our 4 Pillars. Examples of these events are our Business Boot Camp for Entrepreneurs, How to Do Business, and Young Entrepreneur Workshop. AMBASSADOR PROGRAM - The Ambassador Program involves recruiting, cultivating, and empowering selected members of the AACCCF to serve as representatives of our organization in different community functions. This program provides a unique opportunity for chamber members to experience leadership and get involved within our organization.

Corporate partners committed to community and diversity inclusion.

CUBE ME PROGRAM – Specialized entrepreneur development training program. Phase 1: Check-in and Check-up, Phase 2: Roadmap to success, Phase 3: Mentor/Protégé Component, Phase 4: Assessment and Evaluation.  This program includes a series of Cube Me Roundtables, curriculum scheduled to tackle strategic planning, branding, budget planning, client acquisition, proposal and business plan writing, marketing and communications, capacity building, and access to capital, among other topics. The program will offer participants a world-class toolkit essential for business growth and development. “I/E” DIVERSITY INCLUSION PROGRAM - Inclusion not Exclusion sets the tone for AACCCF’s Supplier Diversity Program.  This program includes educating members on how to navigate the minority certification, contract and procurement process, offering scholarships for private certification entities. Also prequalifying and vetting identified companies to connect with AACCCF strategic partners in the private and public sector.
