FINAL ACTIVITY: EXCEL’S CONTEXTUALIZATION FOR USING CONDITIONAL FORMATTING, CONDITIONAL STATEMENTS AND VERTICAL LOOKUP THE USE OF EXCEL TO SOLVE DAILY SITUATIONS ANDRES FERNANDO HERNANDEZ LICEO BENALCAZAR Senior Student´s ICT Subject
Approach This week we are going to work on an activity about the concepts:
“COUNT IF” Conditional “IF” MAX Function MIN Function AVERAGE Function VLOOKUP Function Auto Fit Column Width Borders and Cell Styles
Once you have downloaded the final Excel’s worksheet named “Conditional format and others you must do the following directions: Use the tool “auto fit column width” in all the information Use Borders and Cell Styles General Average: Use the function AVERAGE to get all subject’s average grade. General State: Use the function IF to display “PASS” if the general Average overpass the value 3,4 and otherwise display “FAIL”. Use the Conditional Format to color Green when the PASS word is displayed and Red when the FAIL word is displayed 5. ALL GRADES: Use the Conditional format to color the numbers according to the following value ranges: a. Green for the values range: [5,0 – 3,4) b. Yellow for the values range: [3,4 – 3,0] c. Red for the values range: (3,0 – 0] 1. 2. 3. 4.
6. Passed and Failed for every subject: You must count the number of Students Who Passed and Failed in every subject, remember the value to determine whether passed or not is the value 3,4. 7. Subject’s Basic Statistics: Maximum grade use the function MAX to determine the highest grade for every subject, the same action to determine the mínimum grade but using the MIN function and finally the AVERAGE function to determine the course’s performance. 8. Best student’s Name: You must get the best General Average and based on this information the name must be displayed by using the VLOOKUP 9. Number of best Average Grade: Use the COUNT IF function to ensure the maximum general average is only one.
Here is an example of how should the table look like, the style colors are free to be choosen.
