The Launch of the Chanel Matriochka Bag Punctuate P.R company will be holding the product launch of the new black and gold Chanel Mariochka Bag, it will be taking place on Friday 28th May 2010 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, Central London. Despite the handbag not available until the end of May, celebrities such as Lily Allen and Natalia Vondianova have already been pictured with the bag which has become one of this summer’s ‘must have’ items. The bag was designed in order to celebrate and commemorate their tenth year, Vogue Russia asked some of the world’s top designers to create a dress for a traditional Russian Doll. Each of the designers’ hand drawn sketches were brought to life by Russian craftsmen, who hand painted the all 31 - 19″ inch dolls, which were then auctioned off for charity. Karl Lagerfeld, the German-born fashion designer, and the creative director of Chanel, was inspired by this. He decided instead to create a Russian Doll handbag for his Paris-Russia pre-fall 2009 show, which gained all the attention it needed through the celebration of Russian vogues anniversary. From this design, Chanel also created a range of accessories, such as earrings, charms, bracelets and necklaces all influenced by Russian style, which will be previewed at the launch of the Bag. The Chanel brand was founded in 1909 by the influential Coco Chanel, specializing in luxury goods such as haute couture, ready-to-wear, handbags, perfumery, and cosmetics, the Chanel label has become one of the most recognized names in the luxury and haute couture fashion industry and is known for its elegant and stylish products. The Matriochka bag first caught our attention when it appeared in the catwalk last December; it completely keeps the elegance of Chanel classic style whilst adding something fashionable and fresh in to comparison to any of the other traditional Chanel handbags. Although maybe not being as practical it is perfect for a fashion party and definitely stands out from the crowd.
