Joint airlift brings Stolen Cerberus V to a close Story and photos by Senior Airman Devin M. Rumbaugh 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

A U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules drops an equipment bundle during exercise Stolen Cerberus V May 15 over Megara Drop Zone, Greece. Hellenic riggers worked with U.S. Air Force Joint Airdrop Inspectors to ensure the bundle was rigged properly.

ELEFSIS AIR BASE, GREECE — Exercise Stolen Cerberus V concluded with approximately 100 Airmen deploying back to Ramstein Air Base from Elefsis Air Base, Greece. The 12-day exercise involved members of the 86th Airlift Wing, 435th Contingency Response Group, and the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 5th Quartermaster Company, providing support and training opportunities to Hellenic air force and army personnel. “We got to interfly with the Hellenic air force, which gave us the opportunity for us to train them and for them to see how we operate,” said U.S. Air Force See STOLEN CERBERUS V, Page 2

German Canteen reopens its doors Story and photos by Airman 1st Class Ariel Leighty 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs The German Canteen officially reopened this week after undergoing nearly six months of renovations on Ramstein Air Base. “This is one of the biggest transformations of a single space that has happened on Ramstein in a very long time.” said Brig. Gen. Richard G. Moore Jr., 86th Airlift Wing commander. “This is a dramatic change and thank you to the engineers for everything you’ve done and made this room what it is today.” The 86th Civil Engineer Group conducted renovation work in the facility at the start of the new year to

ensure facility compliance with current German food service code standards. Through the combined team efforts of the German Works Council, 86th CEG, and 86th Mission Support Group, the facility was renovated and brought up to modern German food service facility code requirements and a new German concessionaire was found. Moore thanked and welcomed Andreas Klein, the new concessionaire of the German Canteen, as well as everyone else who assisted with the ceremony and in the renovation of this Ramstein institution. The U.S. Air Force successfully airlifted and dropped 251 jumpers, 25 high velocity cargo delivery system drops, and 16 heavy equipment drops during the exercise. “We were able to provide airlift to them that they do not have easily accessible at all times,” said Pritchard. “They are very limited on resources, so when we come down, we open up a lot of doors for them.” Along with being able to provide resources for training, the 37th Airlift Squadron Joint Airdrop Inspectors exchanged inspection expertise with the Hellenic army riggers. “They actually use the same rigging manuals that we use,” said U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Toni Odom, 37th AS JAI. “Since they also rig for C-130s, they use our publications for rigging.” JAIs work directly with riggers to ensure cargo is up to code before the cargo is taken to the aircraft, and before the cargo is received by the aircraft’s loadmaster. “I think that it’s different for me as JAI versus the pilots that speak with them maybe 1 or 2 hours aday,” said Odom. “I’m over there with them

from sun up to sun down. I think that was the purpose of the exercise. For us to learn from them.” The JAIs weren’t the only members working with the Hellenic army riggers. The 21st TSC’s 5th Quartermaster Company worked with the Hellenic army riggers who built the bundles that were dropped out of the aircraft. “We absolutely increased our partnerships and interoperability,” said Pritchard. “I think that was evident when we flew a three ship formation involving two U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules, and one Hellenic air force C-130H Hercules. We dropped Greek equipment, a U.S. Humvee that was rigged by the Greeks, followed by Greek personnel jumping out of a U.S. aircraft. Through the Stolen Cerberus relationship, the U.S. and Hellenic air forces demonstrated a shared commitment to a peaceful, stable and secure European theater. “The fact that we were able to do all these different things just shows that our interoperability has increased exponentially during this Stolen Cerberus exercise,” said Pritchard. “We have definitely built a stronger relationship with the Hellenic air force and army.”

US, Iceland remember WW II heroes with monument dedication

U.S. and Iceland honoured the crew of B-52 Liberator ‘Hot Stuff’ at a monument dedication ceremony, May 3 in Keflavick, Iceland, on the 75th anniversary of it crashing in Iceland during a heavy storm. All but one passenger on board were killed to include famous WW II Lt. Gen. Frank Maxwell Andrews. As two of the founding nations of NATO, Iceland and the U.S. continue their long and enduring relationship of seamless cooperation as allies.

KEFLAVIC AIR BASE, ICELAND — May 3, marked the 75th anniversary of the death of Lt. Gen. Frank Maxwell Andrews and the crew of the B-24 Liberator “Hot Stuff,” the first heavy bomber in the 8th Air Force to complete 25 missions. “Their sacrifice and commitment to a cause far greater than themselves represents the proud heritage and tradition of honour that is the core identity of today’s U.S. Air Force,” said Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark, 3rd Air Force commander. Clark, joined by Col. E. John Teichert, Joint Base Andrews commander; members of the U.S. Air Force along with Icelandic counterparts Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson, Iceland Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Porsteinn and Olafur Marteinsson (originators of the dedication idea) attended a monument dedication to those who perished 75 years ago. The B-24 liberator crashed on the side of Mt. Fagradalsfjall in Grindavikurvegur, Iceland, due to severe weather conditions on their way back to the United States. The monument sits at the base of the mountain adorned with a model of their aircraft and inscribed with the names of those impacted that day as a way of ensuring the sacrifices made would not be forgotten. “The names of Frank Andrews, the crew and passengers of ‘Hot Stuff ’ do

Andrews, considered one the greatest military leaders in U.S. history and the “Father of the Air Force,” was to be notified on the very day he died that he had been selected to command the Allied Forces for the eventual invasion of Europe. Andrews never received the message and the job would later be assigned to Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower following Andrews’ death. “To see the local community come

Cyber Airmen unite to protect information space Story and photos by Airman 1st Class D. Blake Browning 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs The U.S. Air Forces in Europe Warrior Preparation Center on Einsiedlerhof Air Station, Germany closed the first U.S. Air Forces-Europe - Air Forces Africa cyber-only exercise on May 11. “The purpose of the exercise was to provide training of mission defense skills and to keep our adversaries out of our information cyberspace,” said Master Sgt. Daidric Young, USAFE cyber integration manager. Airmen assigned to the 86th Communications Squadron, 52nd Communications Squadron, 31st Communications Squadron, and the 1st Combat Communications Squadron split the exercise in two parts. The first half of the training was a cyber academic workshop teaching Airmen new procedures along with cyber analysis tools used to monitor network activity. The second half of the training was a practical application of the skills learned. “The experience I’ve gained through this training is great,” said Senior Airman Matthew Gorman, 86th

with immobilizing adversaries through cyber defense. 90th Cyberspace Operations Squadron Airmen, located at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, remotely played the role as the acting adversary (Red Team) challenging the cyber defenders with a variety of attacks. Blue team Airmen monitored and

defended simulated mission essential network assets against compromise. “This exercise was a great example of cyber Airmen sharpening their skills to better harden USAFE cyber key terrain,” said Col. Jonathan Sutherland, USAFE A6 director and chief information officer. “While we’re in the early stages of developing our cyber defense capability in theater, I’m excited about the momentum we’ve garnered; not only for future exercises, but for an eventual transition to base cyber squadrons with active cyber defense as a core mission area.” Exercise participants were able to train on activities without risking assets, through the use of network monitoring tools, vulnerability network scanners, and other defense analysis tools, affording operators the confidence to execute in real-world scenarios. “These training scenarios are the key to preparing our mission defense teams,” said Young. “In this environment we’re afforded real-world training without risking mission assets.” Ensuring information is accurate, complete, and secure, mission defense teams bring new cyber capabilities to USAFE.

7th MSC Soldier prepares for USARC Best Warrior Competition

by Specialist Daisy Zimmer U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Safety Office Specialist Konner Klein, a supply specialist with Charlie Company, 457th Civil Affairs Battalion, in Wackernheim, Germany, shares his thoughts on winning the 7th Mission Support Command’s Best Warrior Competition in April. Klein, along with one other winner from 7th MSC, is slated to compete in the U.S. Army Reserve Command Best Warrior Competition at Fort Bragg, N.C., this June.

How did you prepare for the 7th MSC Best Warrior Competition?

My preparation only started three days prior. I was already [temporary duty] in Kaiserslautern, so I didn’t have much of my gear and had to go back to Wiesbaden and grab my gear and prepare my uniform and study as much as I could. I went over land navigation, combat lifesaving, and basic warrior tasks.

Q: A:

Who helped you prepare?

Staff Sgt. William Thompson, the other competitor from the

457th, and our sponsor Staff Sgt. Lucien Kruse. We were all new to this competition so we bounced ideas off each other to help each other as best we could.

Q: A:

What was the most challenging part of the competition?

Either the land navigation or the ruck march. As far as the land nav goes, we were in the middle of Kaiserslautern so the woods were very thick and it was difficult to accurately follow an azimuth so we had to count on terrain features. The ruck march was in almost full gear, with our [body armor] with plates and a 35-pound ruck. Physically, that was pretty challenging. We did 6 miles as fast as we could and it took some wear and tear on our feet. I hadn’t rucked in two or three years before that march. I’ve done some hiking, but not with that gear or weight.

Do you have any specific techniques that helped you through the ruck march?

It’s not so much about technique, it was all about heart and how much you wanted it. I’m pretty decent as far as my cardio so that probably

When you found out you won, what did that mean for you personally?

ing out twice a day and rucking twice a week. As far as other training, we’re studying quite a bit and have a lot of warrior tasks we’re practicing through the day including [chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear], [combat lifesaver], weapons reassembly and functions checks, and combatives.

helped me quite a bit, but as far as actually getting through the ruck itself that’s all a mental game trying to push yourself.

It was almost unreal. I did a double-take when they announced my name. I try my hardest to be the best Soldier I can be, so as far as being recognized actually coming to a competition with little preparation, it was good to shine above my peers and actually get my name out there to our higher enlisted Soldiers and our leadership teams. When we go out there, we’re going to do the best we can. All this training is only making us better. It’s pretty nice to take some time off the normal everyday stuff and get out there and do the Soldier training we were meant to be doing, or wanted to do, when we joined the Army.

How are you preparing for USARC Best Warrior Competition at Ft. Bragg?

Our battalion came up with a training schedule for us. We’re doing a lot of physical fitness, work-

If you win the USARC Best Warrior Competition, what’s next for you?

At this point, I haven’t focused on that too much. That’s the 100-meter target, and I’m focused on the 50 at this point. I’m just trying to prepare as much as I can for the one coming up June.

Do you have any advice for Soldiers who want to compete in a Best Warrior Competition?

Don’t be scared. Even if it’s not a winning experience for you, it’s a learning experience. I’ve definitely learned a lot from it. Go out and do your best, and the results might play out in your favor. I definitely didn’t believe I was going to win it. I went out and did the best I could, and here I am. Get out there and do it, study, and train hard.

Eleven days full of fun and excitement — that’s what Maikerwe promises at the trade fair in Kaiserslautern. From May 25 to June 4, small and large Kerwefans will have the opportunity to celebrate at the biggest folk festival in the West Palatinate. Here, turbulent rides, cozy beer gardens and lots of culinary delights offer the nicest change from everyday life. It starts on May 25, when at 5 p.m. the Lautrer Kerwe opens its gates. At 6:30 p.m. the procession with fanfares starts at the gate of Schwarzwaldstrasse, making its way across K-Town’s Kerwe platz. The fair will officially open at 7 p.m. with the traditional draft beer barrel opening by Mayor Dr. Ing. Susanne WimmerLeonhardt in the marquee of the Jäkel family. At around 10 p.m., visitors will then be able to experience a colorful,

high-altitude firework display that will turn the sky over Kaiserslautern into a glittering sea of color. Numerous spectacular rides also provide plenty of action and good fun at the Kerweplatz. Exceptional driving effects with very high acceleration moments await everyone ready for ‘Take-Off.’ Its gondolas, which rotate on a wheel disc up to 60 degrees, offer young and old fantastic experiences. With a unique, unprecedented driving sequence and extraordinary light, sound and special effects, the ‘Ghost Rider’ will keep you entertained. Another ride, ‘Godzilla,’ is a nerve-racking flight through the jungle. At an altitude of 46 meters at 120 km/h and an acceleration of 4.5 G no one can sit quietly in his seat. For adrenaline junkies, the ‘Drifting Coaster,’ a unique roller coaster with freely swinging gondolas of up to 120 degrees, promises a very special kick. At the ‘Chaos Airport,’ the first airport in Kaiserslautern, a chaotic, action-packed obstacle course lures its visitors from the reserve. Pure goose bumps with a scare factor can be expected in the ‘Ghost Snake,’ a ghost train experience on four floors. If you need a quiet break in between, you can relax in the new Ferris wheel ‘White Star,’ with a view over the city.

Also the traditional rides such as the ‘Breakdance,’ ‘Musik-Express’ or the bumper cars will not be missing. The ‘super wave flight,’ the chain flier for a romantic nostalgia ride, is also back. Numerous attractions are also available for small children. In the cozy beer gardens, bistros, tents and at numerous food stalls, you can find something for every taste, from bratwurst to Palatinate specialties and culinary delicacies. In the shopping alley traditional wares such as spices, household goods, clothes and handcrafted goods are offered. Special program items make this year’s Maikerwe a very special experience. Wednesday, May 30, is family day, featuring half-price tickets and entrance fees as well as many special offers. In the large marquee there will be a puppet show for the youngest at 4 p.m. Children can also enjoy free face painting and a balloon artist. Finally, with a magnificent display of fireworks, the showmen say goodbye to their guests on Monday, June 4, around 10 p.m. The Kerwe is open on the opening day from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday. On Sundays and public holidays Kerweplatz opens from 1 to 11 p.m. and 2 to 11 p.m. on any other day.

Takin’ it to the streets: Tips for Motorcycle Safety Month by Seth Dyer Installation Management Command Public Affairs May is Motorcycle Safety Month and with that is the start of summer riding, great travel and touring opportunities that living in Europe has to offer. Keeping that in mind, let’s talk safety. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcycle riders are 27 times more likely to be killed in an accident than someone in a car. That’s why the U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Safety Office compiled some helpful tips to make your ride safe and enjoyable this summer. SHARE THE ROAD We have all seen the bumper stickers on motorcycles, cars and trucks with the motto, “Share the Road.” But what does that mean? It means everyone who uses the road should drive responsibly and look out for each other. Small changes really make a huge impact when road conditions, traffic or weather change. Motorists must understand the safety challenges faced by motorcyclists such as size and visibility and motorcycle riding practices like downshifting and weaving to know how to anticipate and respond to them. To put this into perspective — an adult on a motorcycle riding over 80 mph on the Autobahn is just as vulnerable as a child on a bicycle. If you were driving a car beside a child riding a bicycle on the street, you would drive cautiously and try to anticipate the child’s sudden movements. You should do the same for motorcycle riders — be cautious and give them some space. If you are a motorcycle rider, practice defensive driving because vehicle drivers may not see you or be paying attention. GETTING ROAD READY IN GERMANY Americans who want to ride in Europe must have a state endorsement for motorcycles on their driver’s license. This is a requirement to ride in Europe. Army Motorcycle Safety Courses are offered at Kapaun Air Station and U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden. Riders can register on a government computer at the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Traffic Safety Training website: https://imc.army.mil/airs/usg_disclaimer.aspx. Loaner bikes, helmets and gloves are available for free use during the

basic rider course. Participants must show up with long-sleeve shirts, long pants and proper heavy-duty foot wear (military boots are fine). PRE-RIDE CHECKLIST 1. Check the tire pressure and tread depth. 2. Check the hand and foot brakes. 3. Operate your headlights to ensure they are clear, bright and pointed in the right direction (most states require you can see an object 200 feet away and have the lights pointing at an angle 7 feet right of the center line 100 feet away). 4. Check your indicator lights for operation. 5. Compare your fluid levels to previous rides and top them up when necessary. 6. Check under the motorcycle for signs of oil or gas leaks. 7. Ensure if you are carrying cargo that it is secured and the load is balanced. Adjust the suspension and tire pressure to accommodate the extra weight, if necessary. These are just a few of the checklist steps. View the full checklist at this link: https://safety.army.mil/OFF-DUTY/ PMV-2/PamphletsChecklists.aspx PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT Dress for the crash, not the ride. Wearing a U.S. Department of Transportation-approved helmet is the best protection for your head in a serious motorcycle crash. Look for the DOT symbol on the outside back of the helmet. Some motorcycle helmets include plastic face shields offering protection from wind, rain, insects, dust and stones. You can wear goggles if your helmet doesn’t have a face shield. Be sure your arms and legs are completely covered when riding a motorcycle — wearing leather or heavy denim is ideal. Not only does protective gear shield you during a crash, it also helps prevent dehydration. Shoes or boots should cover your ankles and wearing gloves will protect your hands while giving you a better grip. Also, wear brightly colored clothing with reflective material to make you more visible to others on the road — especially at night. Summer riding can be exhilarating and relaxing, just ensure you protect yourself by wearing the right gear, ensure your bike is in good working condition and keep your head on a swivel — and as always — never drink and ride.

Everybody’s trying to pick off Ramstein

Ramstein has won five straight DODEA Division I baseball championships and closed it’s regular season with a sweep of rival Kaiserslautern last weekend. The Royals and Kaiserslautern opened play at the Europeans tournament this week and the finals are set for Saturday.

by Thomas Warner contributing writer Whether it’s a matchup like last weekend’s Ramstein vs. Kaiserslautern baseball doubleheader or heading into this weekend’s Europeans tournament, there is a constant drumbeat tracing to the Ramstein Royals and their five straight DODEA titles. Ramstein (10-4) swept their rivals in the final week of the regular season but both teams are on a path to possibly meet again at the Euros. Until someone beats them, Ramstein remains the king of the mountain. “We consider ourselves to be a good team and the situation when you play Ramstein is that they are also a really good team,” said KHS coach Justin Bates. “And they are a team that hates to lose. I consider this to be the most wide-open Euros tourney in my seven years of coaching DODEA TRACK AND FIELD Wiesbaden trip great for Ramstein boys Ramstein’s boys won another team title and appear to the odd’son favorites at this week’s Europeans track and field meet. baseball. Everything’s possible.” Ramstein was getting shut out last weekend before staging a mammoth, final-inning comeback and beating homestanding Kaiserslautern 6-5. The Royals had senior stalwart Nemo Kindle on the mound for game two and won, 7-3, to complete the sweep. “We had the disappointment (of losing two) at Lakenheath but then to come home and win a series, and to make that comeback, that we knew we needed in order to earn a top seed in Euros was really big for our younger guys,” Ramstein coach Travis Shoffner said. His team was set to play Naples yesterday in a Euros opener at Southside Field, which is serving as a host site along with Kaiserslautern’s Pulaski Field. Kaiserslautern was scheduled to open against Vilseck. Ninth-grader Kaleb Bellew was the only multiple hitter for Ramstein but nearly every other Royal batter

was able to reach base. Still Bellew and his mates trailed 5-0 before a sixth-inning rally saved them. Nick Kranz had a two-run single and Jerod Junkins tripled to tie the game before Jeremy LeClair singled home the goahead run. Junior right-hander Tieran

come from Kaiserslautern, which was runner-up at the Wiesbaden meet. Baumholder placed sixth and is looking to find big success on the boys’ side within the Division III portion of Europeans. The Ramstein girls were third overall at the Wiesbaden meet and Kaiserslautern was fourth, so there are still question marks about which teams will emerge with Division I championship banners from this weekend’s Euros meet. It’s set to take place at the Kaiserslautern High complex on Vogelweh with local spectators getting a chance to see the

best of the best from 2018. Storylines at this week’s Euros include Kaiserslautern’s Jada Branch and Ramstein’s CiCi Williams potentially winning multiple events, Ramstein and K-Town boys competing closely in distance events, and Kaiserslautern’s continued success with the shot put and discus. Tieran Shoffner was big in the infield, on the mound and at the plate for Ramstein in wins over Kaiserslautern.

Shoffner pitched the final inning to halt the Raiders (13-5) for good. He also contributed an RBI-double during the Royal rally. Kenyon Jiles and Ronin Sherman had two hits apiece for Kaiserslautern, which suffered from multiple misplayed balls and throwing miscues in the telltale sixth inning. Nolan Sherman pitched a gem until the final inning and joined his brother plus Jiles with doubles in the loss. Kindle showed game management skills for the Royals in the second win, allowing six hits and striking out six with only two walks. Nolan Sherman and Jace Robinson had RBI-doubles but few other Raiders found ways to get on base. Kindle was helped early on by Tieran Shoffner’s double that plated two runs and Ramstein led the whole way. Nolan Sherman and Colin Zayd gave up 10 hits to Ramstein batters. bles make all track and field events unpredictable and when you factor in that it’s the last event of the school year, anything is liable to happen. SOFTBALL Kaiserslautern closes regular season with sweep of rival Ramstein Senior power hitters erupted last Saturday and fueled a 12-7, 16-8 softball sweep for Kaiserslautern over their division rival Ramstein. Phoenix Whisennand and Ally Alamos threw 11 of the innings in the doubleheader, with 14 total strikeouts and 12 walks allowed. Their mound success was complimented by a solid three innings from second game starter Abigail

Young, who kept her cool in the third frame by ending a bases-loaded rally with a strikeout. Victoria Jackson was one of several productive seniors, sending a grand slam deep into centerfield and being joined by Whisennand and Mariana Conklin with three base hits in the win. Senior catcher Chloe Whisennand went 4-for-5 and was solid behind the plate for the dual KHS pitchers. Alamos was 4-for-4 at the plate in game one, when the Raiders (12-3) also got three hits apiece from Conklin and Young. Chloe Whisennand was solid at catcher and stole two bases to go with her two hits. Ramstein (10-3) got two hits apiece from Azure Agricula and Madison Jarvis in the opening game loss, plus a double from Isabel Craige. Kaiserslautern outhit the Lady Royals 16-8, though, and Ramstein stranded six of its baserunners. Conklin had three doubles to go with one each from Erin Nuckols, Olivia Warren, and Young. In game two, Ramstein starter Abby Walker got most of her backing from the top of the batting order and was provided a 7-3 lead after four innings when Isabel Craige, Savannah Sparrow, and Jarvis all touched Young for base hits. Walker, who struck out six KHS batters and walked only two, helped herself with an RBI-double and had Ariana Rivera do likewise. Other Lady Royals drew walks and all told, four runs came home before Young shut the door with her final strikeout.

Page 17 Ramstein later got a bunt single from Sydney Smith and had the game tied at 8-all before Jackson’s massive home run did them in. Sparrow was 4-for-5, Walker was 2-for-4, Smith was 2-for-5, Rivera was 2-for-4, and Azure Agricula was 2-for-4 in the setback. SOCCER EUROS Baumholder, Kaiserslautern, Ramstein all post opening round wins Kaiserslautern’s boys won a 6-1 decision Monday against Naples and had games throughout this week leading up to what they hoped will be a semifinals and finals appearance where they Kaiserslautern’s could defend the Tyler Jankowski DODEA title they won last season. Jaheim Allen, a freshman, had three goals along with one each from senior captain Tyler Jankowski, Patrick Boulay, and Pablo Zorrilla. Baumholder took a 3-0 win in boys play against Hohenfels to break a long losing streak. The Bucanneers got scores from senior Brandon Perales and freshmen Jose Pinzon and Eli Rodriguez. The BHS boys later lost a match Monday afternoon against Ansbach. Ramstein notched a 3-0 boys win over Laken heath when Chris Slover scored two goals and Dante Lapitan had another. The Ram stein girls also won their Euro opener, topping Kaisers lautern 8-1.

Recycling can be one of the more daunting tasks when living in Germany. Here is a cheat sheet about Kaiserslautern County’s recycling “rules.” If you live outside of the county, your regulations may be different. Please check with your local government office to verify what you need to do. Basicall y, in Kaiserslautern, there are 5 different types of recycling. Four of these five, waste, paper, compost, plastics and metal, are usually taken care of at your home location and the fifth, glass, is done in a centralized area in town. Here, by name and color, are some dos and don’ts about what belongs in each bin:

for most paper products. This includes:  newspapers, magazines, cardboard boxes, wrapping paper, books, envelopes, file folders and items like cereal boxes. This bin may get full quickly, especially around your PCS time. This also

takes some planning and breakdown of boxes since it is only picked up once a month. In my house, we tend to fill this before the 4 weeks are over. Glass: In your area, you will see dome-shaped con-

tainers, usually in groups of three. These are meant for glass. The three containers correspond to the color of the glass: brown, clear and green. This is usually an every-otherweek trip for us, so it is not too bad. As you may have noticed, glass

is used more often here; make sure the container you have does not have a pfand. This is a bottle deposit that you paid when you bought the item. It is usually applied to beer and water bottles and dairy products like yogurt.
