‘Million Gallon Man’ fuels mission by Senior Airman Timothy Moore 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

egardless of the vehicle you operate, it requires fuel. For military vehicles passing through Ramstein Air Base, that fuel is often supplied by Airmen from the 86th Logistics Readiness Squadron, and one Airman from the squadron went above and beyond to perform his mission. Airman 1st Class Ben Hunter, 86th LRS fuel distribution operator, supplied more than 1 million gallons of fuel in July. “It was a personal goal,” Hunter said. “I was challenged to do it, because it hasn’t happened at Ramstein in two years. It happens more often in deployed locations. Some Airmen have tried to go for it, but usually only get close. I wanted to do something significant, so I did.” The feat is something significant as Hunter outperformed 86th LRS’s top See FUEL, Page 3

ments when people find a home as those appointments take priority over walk-ins. Housing personnel also recommend processing certain services through their organizational email boxes. These processes include outprocessing temporary lodging allowances, questions and answers about house hunting, overseas housing allowance stops, and FMO pickups. To date, emailing services reduced visits to the facility by 15 percent, Perez said.

One aspect housing employees have taken time to work on is the walk-in system. Due to a recent computer crash, they reverted to an analog sign-in without tracking and lack of focus on customer needs. The computer crash, combined with the increase in customers and lack of staff, caused fiveto six-hour wait times. “When the system was down, we didn’t know who was signing in and what they See HOUSING, Page 2

The KMC Housing Office on Vogelweh recently took steps to reduce a four-week backlog for customers. The backlog, a combined Housing and Furnishings Management Office issue, began with 21 unfilled employee vacancies, an increase of approximately

3,000 customers over the past year, and computer problems. For service members coming to Ramstein, a two- or threeweek delay may exceed their 30-day allotment of temporary lodging allowance, which may cause them out-of-pocket expenses. However, the housing office will continue reimbursement as long as it’s through no fault of the member. The KMC office serves more than 47,000 Department

I have never seen it this busy, but we are taking steps to make it better.” The housing office is taking steps to decrease wait time and visits to the facility. Responsible Airmen: Dorm ban on alcohol lifted COMMENTARY

by Brig. Gen. Patrick X. Mordente 86th Airlift Wing commander

A

s many of our Airmen at Ramstein were told Wednesday at several town halls, after careful deliberation, I decided to rescind the general order banning alcohol in the dormitories effective immediately. About 18 months ago, the order was put in place prohibiting the possession and consumption of alcohol while in the dorms. There were several reasons for implementing the order, and the decision was not made lightly by my predecessor. My decision to rescind the order wasn’t made lightly or in haste either, and I believe it is the right decision to make. It is and will always remain a commander’s responsibility to provide a safe, secure and respectful environment for Airmen to live in. That is my obligation, and I take it seriously. Many factors played a role in my making this decision, but input from your commanders,

ing alcohol in any way still apply, but take this responsibility seriously and handle it with care and concern. Being a professional Airman doesn’t end when you end your duty day or take off your uniform. It’s a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week, 365-days-a-year commitment. It is up to you as Airmen to own your actions and choices, step up as good wingmen and hold each other accountable to Air Force standards. Make sure you step in and help each other make smart decisions as professional Airmen so you can continue to enjoy this freedom safely. I have faith and confidence that our Airmen in the dorms will take this decision as an opportunity and seize it appropriately. It was an entire Team Ramstein command decision because of the faith and confidence we all have in you. Don’t let us down, don’t let your unit leadership team down and don’t let yourself down. I know you will all continue to be the amazing Airmen we rely on to accomplish our mission and defend our nation.

were being seen for. It was chaotic,” Perez said. “We decided to get our arms around it, implement the numbering system and use (a different software program) to log and track what people are here for.” Now, by offering email out-processing, experiencing a slight draw down in customers, instituting a take-a-number-and-wait system, and having a different computer with different software, the wait time has been reduced to approximately two hours for contract reviews. Contract reviews is the longest wait time depending on the requested service, so individuals can expect to wait from five minutes to roughly two hours. To prevent this from

first sergeants, agency chiefs and leaders at all levels expressing their trust in you helped guide the wing command chief and I to this point. Additionally, while going through the data and discussing the results with base leaders, we couldn’t isolate a direct correlation between the order banning possession of alcohol in the dorms and the number of alcohol-related incidents. Armed with this data, we decided to put our faith in our professional Airmen here regarding this issue. We place faith and trust in you, just as we do with all other matters of airmanship. The bottom line is you are all adults and professional Airmen, and we are going to treat you this way. Each of you will have to own the situation of having alcohol in your living areas and own the responsibility to step up and be the Airmen I need you to be and the nation expects of you. Airman 1st Class Keith Martineau, 786th Civil Engineer Squadron electrical systems journeyman, and Tech. Sgt. Jason Howland, 786th CES NCO in charge of exterior electrical systems, check the circuit in a streetlight before repairing it Aug. 15 on Ramstein. The night operations crew repaired and replaced more than 500 lights during a three-week effort.

W

ith the winter months coming up fast and the hours of daylight gradually shortening, a threeman team from the 786th Civil Engineer Squadron spent July 7 to 25 repairing and replacing streetlights to enhance safety and visibility during the darker hours on Ramstein. From changing bulbs to digging underground trenches, the 786th CES Airmen successfully fixed approximately 500 lights. Though their efforts have reduced the number of electrical issues, they said their work is far from over. “We started our night operation by driving around and marking the poles that were out,” said Airman 1st Class Keith Martineau, 786th CES electrical systems journeyman. “We were three hours in and hadn’t even finished marking a quarter of the poles. That’s when we decided we needed a night operation.” The night operations team worked from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday repairing large areas with issues, including parts that house Airmen. “We had to wait until 10 p.m. to start, because the streetlights don’t turn on until that time,” Martineau said. “Then they turn off at 7 a.m., and that’s when we have to stop, because it’s very hard to tell which lights need repairs if they’re all off.” Electricity is crucial to the mission. From outlets to light bulbs, the 786th CES electrical systems Airmen replace, repair and maintain

these important assets, enabling other Airmen to do their jobs. “I believe every job within the Ramstein community is important,” said Tech. Sgt. Jason Howland, 786th CES NCO in charge of exterior electrical systems. “We play an important role for those on the flightline, in finance, in medical; we all come together to make it happen. I think being an electrician is one of the most satisfying jobs anyone could have, because you don’t know how much you need electricity until it’s gone.” The crew said they find their job gratifying, because they are able to see how they directly impact others. Martineau said he revels in the problem-solving aspect of his job. “I enjoy troubleshooting. When we come to a problem and think we can’t fix it and don’t know what’s wrong, we begin at a starting point and work our way through so we can find the problem. It’s like a puzzle,” Martineau said. “The best part is seeing the customers happy when we’re able to fix something, and that makes me happy.” Although there are positive and negative aspects of their job, Howland said he enjoys being around Airmen who are passionate. “Even though there are constant operations going on and unforeseen things happening, I’ve never been part of a unit that’s so ready to learn and has such an optimistic view on what we do,” Howland said. “We try to tell every Airman that comes through here why we do what we do as opposed to just what we do.” The electrical systems Airmen have an impact on the Air Force mission. Though they are no longer working all hours of the night, they continue to illuminate the path — one light bulb at a time.

pumpers by approximately 600,000 gallons. “The average is around 200,000 to 300,000 gallons a month for our top pumpers,” said Tech. Sgt. Eric Groff, 86th LRS NCO in charge of fuel distribution. “For him to do that, he basically picked up the workload of three other individuals for the entire month.” Fuel distribution operators supply fuel to both aircraft and ground vehicles of varying sizes. The vehicles they service are used for transporting service members to and from deployed locations, enabling security forces personnel to patrol installations, taking patients back home to the U.S. and delivering humanitarian aid, among other things. The unit’s control center tracks the fuel issued and helped Hunter keep track of his goal.

“People call me the ‘Million Gallon Man,’” Hunter said. “They like to poke fun at me, but not in a negative way. It’s one of those things we don’t see happen often, so when it happens, it’s just fun to joke around about it.” Though he and his fellow fuel distribution operators joke about his impressive feat, Hunter is determined to stay humble and keep working hard. “I’m happy to have accomplished a big goal, but it boils down to the fact that I was just doing my job,” Hunter said. “Personally, I like to do things to the best of my ability. If I’m not, I’m not doing myself justice. I just want to do the job the best I can.” From a challenge, Hunter fortified himself to reach a personal goal, better himself in his career field and become the “Million Gallon Man.”

rmed Forces Entertainment presented service members with a free, adult comedy show Aug. 18 at the Ramstein Enlisted Club. The 90-minute performance was put on by the GIs of Comedy, a group of four stand-up comedians who are all combat veterans. The group was formed in 2010 by retired Army Staff Sgt. Thom Tran, a comedian and writer. While in the Army, Tran was medically separated after being wounded during a combat deployment. “I didn’t leave the Army because I wanted to. I left because I was wounded in combat in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in

2003,” Tran said. “Leaving was not my choice. It was a medical necessity.” The group also consists of Air Force Reserve Maj. Jose Sarduy, 96th Flying Training Squadron flight instructor from Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas; retired Navy veteran Patrick “PJ” Walsh; and Army Reserve Master Sgt. Benari Poulten from Los Angeles. The show was a free per-

formance to boost the morale of service members in the KMC. The GIs partnered with the Special Operations Warriors Foundation in 2012 and 2013 and raised more than $10,000 in donations for the charity. “We’re also attached to an organization that raises funds for those who don’t make it back from deployments,” Poulten said. Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody speaks to an audience of current, former and retired Airmen at the Air Force Sergeants Association Professional Airmen’s Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.

CMSAF discusses ‘way ahead’ for Airmen by Rich Lamance Air Force News Service JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Air Force’s top enlisted leader focused on the future force, the new enlisted evaluation system and professional development during the Air Force Sergeants Association Professional Airmen’s Conference here Aug. 19. Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody addressed an audience of Airmen, former enlisted and retired NCO members of the association where he talked about the challenges of a smaller Air Force and the impact it is having and will have on its Airmen. Cody emphasized that today and tomorrow’s Air Force will be the smallest, most globally engaged force in its history and that programs such as evaluations, promotions and professional education will need to evolve as the Air Force as a service evolves. “If we’re going to develop leaders of the future, and ask them to do things that today we don’t even know have to be done, we have to evolve,” Cody said. Cody said he believes that Airmen develop along a path much like the structure of a pyramid. “If we’re going to develop Airmen of the future, it’s important not to just measure Airmen functionally, not to just make sure they are exquisite at their job,” he said. “They have to have greater breadth and depth in a professional force like this. You have to think about the development of special duties and how it builds an Airman in a different way.” Cody said he believes the Air Force needs to look at how to manage Airmen as a human capital strategy, looking out for the needs of the Air Force, while continuing to purposefully nurture and grow its Airmen along the way. “When you have a smaller force, you have to make sure the Airmen have the skill sets needed,” Cody said. “Maybe 10 years ago, this idea that (Airmen) would have a lot more say in what (they) would be doing for our Air Force was reasonable. We had enough people to allow for it, we had enough qualified people to do what we needed to do. “When you get smaller, you can’t do that. You can’t allow yourself to fall short, because the minute you fall short you’re creating that hole for everyone to catch up,” he continued. “If we need you to do something as a staff sergeant, we need you to do something as a staff sergeant. So that when you’re a master sergeant you’ll have the skills to do what our Air Force needs you to do.” Cody said he believes that Airmen have to rethink about what their commitment to serve is about. “You can’t be solely functional. You can’t be so connected that when your Air Force asks you to do something else that you can’t be the most dedicated Airman and do what your nation expects,” he said. British cadets visit Kisling NCO Academy Story and photo by Airman 1st Class Jordan Castelan 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs More than 40 British Air Training Corps cadets visited the Kisling NCO Academy to garner knowledge about the Air Force lifestyle and education system. The cadets received a tour of the Kisling NCOA facilities, witnessed a retreat ceremony and participated in group team building exercises centered on physical activity. “We’re here to see some of the capabilities the U.S. Air Force possesses,” said British ATC Flight Sgt. Ross McCreery, 331st Air Training Corps. “We are excited to tackle the physical challenges arranged

for us and hope to use them to teach us better leadership, teamwork and dialogue skills between us and our partners.” Kisling NCOA staff anticipated the cadet’s arrival far in advance and were able to show them a multifaceted view of the U.S. Air Force. “We’re here to support our visiting British ATC Cadets,” said Tech. Sgt. Melissa LaBoy, USAFE Kisling NCOA instructor. “We want to show them how it feels to be a student here and be able to go back home with the knowledge that can promote growth within their organizations.” As U.S. Air Forces in Europe’s only NCOA, Kisling plays host to foreign allies in both a teaching and mentoring aspect.

British Air Training Corps Detachment Warrant Officer Mathew Craigs, 224th ATC, calls a group of more than 40 British cadets to attention Aug. 14 in front of the Kisling Noncommissioned Officer Academy on Kapaun. The cadets from England, Wales and Northern Ireland took part in the event that immersed them into the life of a U.S. Air Force NCO attending the Kisling NCOA.

‘Always Ready’ battalion hosts NCO induction ceremony Story and photo by Sgt. 1st Class Alexander A. Burnett 21st Theater Sustainment Command Public Affairs It is a crucial moment in a Soldier’s career — a step that transitions them from troops to leaders. It is the moment they become noncommissioned officers. One battalion recognized Soldiers from throughout the KMC for their entrance into the NCO corps with a ceremony. The 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 21st Special Troops Battalion inducted 12 Soldiers into the NCO ranks with an induction ceremony Aug. 15 at the Tiger Theater on Sembach Kaserne. Eleven of the recently promoted NCOs came from the 21st STB’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company and 5th Quartermaster Company (Riggers). The other NCOs came from American Forces Network Headquarters. The guest speaker for the ceremony was Command Sgt. Maj. Rodney J. Rhoades, 21st TSC senior enlisted adviser. Instead of giving the traditional speech, he took a different approach. “If you all (inductees) would like, I can get up there and give a speech. I would rather talk to you about what becoming a noncommissioned officer means,” Rhoades said. “This promo-

tion is one of the most important in each of your careers. It is the step from being a follower to a leader.” For the next several minutes Rhoades gave an impromptu mentorship session, asking each of the newly promoted NCOs what being a leader meant to them and what they expected from their senior leadership. Afterward, each of the inductees recited the Charge of the Noncommissioned Officer, symbolizing their acceptance of their new rank and

responsibility. As the ceremony concluded, everyone in attendance recited The Creed of the Noncommissioned Officer. Afterward, one of the inductees shared his thoughts on the ceremony. “Being inducted like this was a great experience,” said Sgt. Joshua McHam, HHC, 21st STB human resources NCO. “It’s an honor to have this kind of ceremony, and it makes the promotion feel that much more important.”

Twelve newly inducted noncommissioned officers recite the Creed of the Noncommissioned Officer during an NCO induction ceremony Aug. 15 at the Tiger Theater on Sembach Kaserne.

Capt. Spanky’s wing run experience Hello again Ramstein! This week, I took a little more time off from my travels because I was invited by Brig. Gen. Patrick X. Mordente to participate in the world-famous Ramstein Tri-Wing Run. I was so overjoyed that I immediately went out to the dog house and dug up my PT gear. Now, I admit I don’t set the best example when it comes to physical fitness. I haven’t trained in quite a while, unless you count rolling over for cheese as exercise. But for me, the wing run was just the motivation I needed to get back into my fitness, and it was more than just a run. The run provided a little inspiration through perspiration (or panting in my case), and reminded me of exactly why I serve. To see hundreds of Airmen from three wings and tenant units lining up in formation, waiting for the start of the

run was awe-inspiring by itself, but nothing tugs on this pup’s ears more than what came next. Those Airmen began running, formation by formation, until they formed one continuous line of Airmen. Continuing their route along the Ramstein flightline, the only thing that could be heard was Airmen panting and barking out cadence. Though all these Airmen come from different places and backgrounds, for the half an hour or so we were running, we were a team working in unison to accomplish our objectives. That is how Ramstein operates every day — as a team. If you have never seen or been a part of the wing run here, I highly recommend it. We can all use a little motivation every now and then, and the Airmen here have it in abundance! The next tri-wing run is scheduled for Sept. 18.

Free child care available for new community members Story and photo by Dijon Rolle U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Public Affairs Incoming Soldiers and civilians can qualify for up to 16 hours of free child care per child at the Child Development and School Age Centers in the Kaiserslautern and Baumholder communities during in-processing. Jason Etchell, coordinator for the Baumholder Military Community Child, Youth and School Services, said the service is designed to allow Soldiers, civilians and their spouses the opportunity to attend orientations together as they integrate into the new community. “We’ve had some people come, but I think it’s kind of slowly building,” Etchell said. “The program came out in April or May, so it hasn’t existed that long, but we also do a lot of different briefings in the community to try and get the word out. Right now, the service is being used, but it certainly could be utilized more.” The centers are equipped to care for children 6 weeks of age through fifth grade. Parents or guardians should bring their completed registration paperwork, identification cards and their child’s immunization records to their appointment. The 16 hours of free child care for in-processing Soldiers and civilians is valid for up to 60 days from the time families arrive. “We have great programs here that are nationally

Remember these bus safety do’s and don’ts Meeting children at the bus stop: DO … • wait on the same side of the street as the bus stop. • go to your child at the bus stop. DO NOT … • wait in a parked car. • wait in a building. • allow your child to come to you. Bottom line: When you meet your child at the bus stop, take charge of the situation. You are the adult. Only you can reduce risk and control the situation. Getting on and off the bus: • Be on time. Walk, do not run, to the bus stop. • When waiting for the bus, take at least three large steps away from the curb. • Take your seat on the bus, and stay in it while the bus is moving. If there are seat belts, buckle up. • When getting off the bus, take three large steps away from the curb, and wait for the bus to leave before crossing the street. • Never cross the street in front of or behind a bus. Danger Zones: Educate your child on the danger zones as shown in the above picture. Make sure your child takes extra precautions when near a school bus. Teach your children to never cross in front of or behind a bus. Remember that in Europe, traffic is not required to stop when busses are loading or unloading passengers.

Department of Defense Education Activity behavior standards for students: Stress good behavior on the bus. Good behavior and safety go hand in hand. On or around busses, students must conduct themselves in accordance with these school bus rules: • Obey the bus driver or adult. • Enter and exit the bus safely, and always show your bus pass. • Stay properly seated, and use seat belts when available.

• Keep your hands, feet and other body parts to yourself. • Do not throw things inside the bus. • Do not throw anything out the windows. • Remain quiet, and do not disturb the dirver or others. • No profanity, indecency, smoking, prohibited items or vandalism are allowed. • Do not eat, drink or chew gum while on the bus. • Be responsible, and be safe.

Fit to fight reoccurring injuries Story and photo by Senior Airman Timothy Moore 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Despite how cautious a service member may be, they still run the risk of sustaining an injury through everyday physical activity, whether it’s on the job, while working out or while playing a sport. If they become injured, it can be a journey to get them fit to fight again. However, the journey doesn’t have to be taken alone. Airmen with the 86th Medical Operations Squadron Physical Therapy Clinic are there to help along the way. “It is important for people to come see us after an injury,” said Staff Sgt. Mario Jimenez, 86th MDOS physical therapy technician. “Without the proper healing or treatment, they run the chance of an injury becoming worse.” The 86th MDOS Physical Therapy Clinic can see active-duty patients for a variety of neuromuscular injuries, such as sprains, strains, an assortment of limb pain, rehab after the healing of a fracture, motor vehicle accidents, torn tendons and ligaments, postsurgery repairs, and many more. “First, the patient will go see the doctor — the actual physical therapist,” Jimenez said. “The therapist will test their muscles and assess the situation. Then, they will come up with a treatment plan consisting of either exercises or modality, such as contraction, ice, heat or electrical stimulation. From that plan, they schedule more appointments to see the technicians, and we implement.” The clinic averages between 200 to 250 physical therapy sessions per week with sessions lasting anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. “For here, our therapists like to have the patients in at least a few times a week for

three to four weeks,” Jimenez said. “Then, they will do a re-evaluation.” The re-evaluation determines how far a patient has come since the initial assessment of the injury as well as further steps the physical therapists and technicians will take from that point on. Though it can be crucial for service members’ healing to be seen by physical therapists and technicians, patients should not just show up to the clinic unannounced. “There are a number of ways for patients to be seen,” said Master Sgt. Antwionett Wheeler, 86th MDOS Physical Therapy flight chief. “They can go to their primary care manager or their personal doctor. The doctor will refer them over by putting in a consult for physical therapy. They can also get a referral from another specialty clinic, such as orthopedics or podiatry, to come see physical therapy.” Patients can also help themselves by taking steps to minimize further damage after they have been injured, Jimenez said. “For example when someone sprains his ankle, they need to R.I.C.E — rest, ice, compress and elevate — until they start feeling better or can get proper medical care,” Jimenez said. Without the proper precautions and physical therapy after an injury, service members run the risk of repeating the injury and causing greater damage to the area. “I love my job as a physical therapy technician,” Jimenez said. “I enjoy the satisfaction of helping others return to the activities they enjoy doing.” So, regardless of how an injury occurred, the Airmen with the 86th MDOS Physical Therapy Clinic are there to help service members get fit to fight once more.

St. Wendel sponsors an arts market in the historical part of town from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Art mee ts craf tsmanship this weekend in St. Wendel by Petra Lessoing 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs The historical streets of St. Wendel will turn into a workshop for arts and craftsmanship from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. More than 90 artisans from all over Europe will present their works at the annual market, named “Sankt Wendeler LebensArt.” “Our arts and crafts market is the perfect place for customers looking for excellent hand-crafted objects,” said Leonie Paque from the St. Wendel city marketing office. “Exhibitors will display unique and special works.” Visitors can watch how the artisans work, and they will explain how they created some of their items. The artists will also create fashion or furniture on special request. Arts and crafts items are made by means of different techniques. Visitors will find a variety of ceramics, as well as sculptures and objects made of wood, glass, leather, cloth, paper, stone and metal. There will be clothes, hats, purses, jewelry and housing accessories, sound objects and wind chimes of special designs. “This extraordinary event will bring the arts from the Ivory Tower to the center of town,” said Klaus Bouillon, mayor of St. Wendel. “Our appealing walkplatz (pedestrian zone) with the nice cafes, fine restaurants and welcoming stores form the right ambiance for this high-class market of nice things.”

What you’ll miss when you leave Germany Although there are times when living in a foreign country is difficult and you’ll find yourself missing home, once you PCS out of Germany, there will be a pretty long list of things you’ll miss.

story by Susan Melnyk, contributing writer I found this out the hard way over the past few months, when our tour in Germany ended and we were PCS’ed back to the U.S. After just two years in Germany, I had fallen in love with the pace of life and the perks I’d come to take for granted in our short time there. Here are a few of the things I think you’ll also miss when you leave Germany, and a little reminder of what you should take full advantage of while you are still stationed overseas. Happy travels!! Shopping and grocery stores in walking distance If you lived off base in Germany, I can almost guarantee that you were within walking distance to a bakery, grocery store, or shops. Being able to walk to grab a little something for dinner or do a little window shopping is one of the great luxuries of being based in Europe. Leave the car at home and explore! Spend less time at the gym and more of it exploring this beautiful country. Unless you live in a larg-

er city or right downtown in your town back in the states, it’s not often that you are close enough to walk to stores. Bakeries Oh you beautiful, beautiful German bakeries. Upon arriving at our new home station back in the U.S., I was excited to learn that there was a European bakery in town. Although the place is fantastic and has a wide range of options, nothing quite matches the first time you walk into a German bakery, large or small. The range and quality of the baked breads, cakes, and pastries in Germany (and the rest of Europe) are unrivaled on the other continents. Throw out the scale and enjoy them while you’re there! Speaking of bread... Germans make the most incredible bread. The range of choices in even the smallest bakeries are mind-boggling and you could probably live in Germany for 10 years without trying all the different kinds of breads and rolls. But you should try... you should definitely try!!

Free festivals There are not usually any admission charges for carnivals, fairs, and festivals in Germany. Most wine festivals and city fairs are free to wander through, only charging you for what you eat and drink. This gives you the opportunity to take in tons of events on a budget and is the perfect way to get out and mingle with the locals.
