Dear Human Resources Manager, Please accept my application for the position as Architectural Designer. I am interested in this position because it closely matches my technical skills and my goals for the future. I bring experience collaborating on Residential projects (Dwelling Units) as well as fully developing ICI project drawings (Industrial, Retail Stores, Fast Food) for applications of Building Permits. In addition, I worked for a large international company designing new subdivisions in Brazil that included researching potential land and preparing Residential drawings (foundation, basements and floors plans, elevations, and section). Recently I completed AutoCAD, Revit, and Construction Estimating training in addition to LEED Green Building, Small Buildings and Part 9 - Building Envelope, PMP Project Management Professional courses in Humber College, Toronto. I worked with a Mentor Program from the City of Toronto who provide opportunities to learn about Site Plans, Approvals, and Urban Design and Zoning guidelines. Prior to that at Essa Township, I spent two (2) years developing conceptual plans and participating in Site Plan Meetings for the township. RENOVATION OF A WOODEN HOUSE Creemore, ON, Canada – 2014 Participated in the renovation of this 1860 residential building where no Heritage guidelines had been established. The renovation was done following the rules of part 9 of the Ontario Building Code (building envelop).

RENOVATION FACADE Jacques & Hay Store, New Lowell, ON, CA - 2017 Proposed Community Improvement Plan A Renewal Faรงade project to a building with store in the main floor and apartments in the second floor. This project follows the Faรงade Guidelines for the Community Improvement Plan to reflect the built history of the community and promote collective image of the downtown area.

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN FOR A RESORT Pousada do Rio Quente, Goias, Brazil - 2009 I created conceptual drawings to expand the leisure complex of this resort. The objectives of the projects was to use, both in urban design and in new constructions, sustainable solutions.

INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING WITH SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil - 2010 Studies developed at Mackenzie University for the construction of a new university campus with sustainable solutions, according to the LEED Green Building certificate. The land has more than 50% of tropical forest that, by state laws it must be preserved. At the same time it is located in one of the most expensive districts of the city per square meter.

Created and developed above shown renewal project of a neighbourhood located in the old downtown of Sao Paulo city. This project involved the change of use of industrial buildings, the reorganization of public transportation for the area and the construction of new buildings (museum, student residence and a mall subway connection.

SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS TO AFFORDABLE COMMUNITIES. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 2008 I worked during a month, in a small community, creating and making alternative materials for use in parks and public areas.

Gold Park Subdivision, Angus, ON, CA - 2017 MAPLEWOOD DRIVE


GOLD PARK IDEAS A new subdivision was built in the city of Angus and an area within this new neighborhood was reserved for the construction of a park that would meet the needs of the new residents. I was invited to do a workshop with the locals and turn their ideas into a project.

MASTER PLAN VILA MOURA Algarve, Portugal – 2010 to 2013 I was invited to work at the Center of Urban Studies, Lisbon, Portugal where I teamed-up with Professor Manuel da Costa Lobo, Urban Planning and author of the Master Plan of the City of Vila Moura. This development was divided in two phases and I worked as a research in the process of elaborating the second phase of the project.

Aiming at the constitution of a city, the previous plan: spaces to develop a central area with the predominance of commerce, services and offices in general; another marine area that would concentrate activities nautical, restoration, recreation, commerce and housing; zone of hotels and casinos; and golf courses that guarantee tourists in winter, taking advantage of the "sweet" climate of the Algarve. The dwellings were divided into residential areas of low density in the pine forests along with the golf courses, medium density residential areas to be in villages, with its own characteristics and area of housing stilt in the valley. In environmental terms, the maintenance of a continuous green structure, to protection and development of wildlife; The maintenance of a wetland for the protection of biology local; the maintenance of an agricultural area; and the definition of a specific area for industrial activities slightly at the entrance of Vilamoura.



Angus, ON, Canada – 2014

The town of Angus lies southwest of Barrie, Ontario, with a population of about 10,000 persons. The Rainbow Mall was developed and constructed in the early eighties – a product of the strip mall era when the car ruled. This property has been developed with a focus on the automobile and is located in a key part of the town.

I worked for 2 years as a consultant intern along with Planning Coordinator and Director for ESSA Township.The first project was to analyse this mall to make the area more attractive and walkable. The Rainbow Mall was developed and constructed in the early eighties – a product of the strip mall era when the car ruled.

This property has been developed with a focus on the automobile, but strategies changed to: 1- create more green space and 2- produce compatible and user-friendly features to create a sense of place. This project is in accordance with the Smart Growth for Our Communities Act, 2015 (Bill 73), Growth Planning/Official Plan guidelines and ESSA’s Growth Strategy.


RENOVATION PLAZA TO PROMOTE WALKABILITY 193 Mill St, Angus, ON, Canada – 2014 The property owner along with the Planning Director for ESSA Township, invited me to conduct a study in humanization of this property, a plaza located at a strategic point on the main avenue. The idea was to show the owner that it was possible to use this space to promote events like a vintage car show or a craft fair on weekends. This project is in accordance with Growth Planning/ Official Plan guidelines and ESSA’s Growth Strategy.

How to improve the image of Angus? How to rebrand the town and create a sense of belonging? How can it become proudly, “My Town�? How to make it accessible to all residents, of all ages, by private as well as public transportation? A first step to answer these questions was a series of studies focusing on commercial areas and how to make them more attractive and accessible both for those that drive as well as those that choose to, or can only walk. cinema

TOURISTIC CIRCUIT PROJECT Serra da Mantiqueira, Sao Paulo, Brazil - 2006 I elaborate a touristic itinerary in three cities in the Mantiqueira Region with ANPF National Association of Railway Preservation. The project included existing trails and maps with routes defined by type of transport: car, bicycle, or walking. An economy based on tourism can potentialize the formation of a pole of regional development, particularly with the diversification of tourism and the promotion of ecotourism as a factor for human settlement, generating work in small neighboring towns and preventing urban sprawl.

PROMOTE WALKABILITY VILLAGE OF ANGUS Promote Walkability – Village of Angus, Canada ESSA Township’s Sidewalk Assessment 2015 to 2016. Conceived a walkability plan for a portion of the main street in Angus based on BIA goals and self-directed pedestrian traffic studies. The goal was to achieve safe connections between subdivision areas and business centres in the downtown core.

ROAD PROJECT IN CONSERVATION AREA Serra da Cantareira, Sao Paulo, Brazil - 2003

Participation in meetings as an research from ANPF to design and build a new highway that would pass inside an area of environmental preservation. The project was divided into 4 phases within a 10 year forecast to be completed.

VISION FOR WROCLAW Wroclaw, Poland - 2010 I was invited to be part of the 2010 UN-Habitat European Urban Summer School where professionals with diverse backgrounds congregated from all over Europe and beyond in a central European city to gain a better understanding of urban change. My team compared the city to a human body that we called Mr. Wroclaw. Mr. Wroclaw was identified by three essential elements: knowledge capacity, heritage, and the way people looked at him. We used these three elements to analyse and create a new vision for the City of Wroclaw.

Inhabitants should be actively involved in the transformation process of the street and its surroundings and gentrification pressures which are becoming an inherent part of historic city centres should be consciously addressed..

The planning process should be staged, with incremental interventions and reviews according to development and usages of the city. Initial small physical and symbolic interventions, linked to the existing heritage would improve pedestrian movements, such as raising the overall level of four major crossing to align it with the sidewalks.
