ED BUY OUR NEW PRINT UT NOW O N O I T I D E L A U ANN ELECT S , P O IN OUR ONLINE SH D NEWSAGENTS! N A S E R O T S L I A RET

TO OUR FINAL ONLINE ISSUE It's with a little bit of sadness, that I write my final online editor's letter. You see, this issue is our last online issue as we'll be moving to print permanently from 2016. It's bittersweet really, on the one hand I'm super excited to be finally living out my dream – to own and publish my very own printed publication, on the other, my little online magazine, which I started just over five years ago is closing its doors. I guess in a way, the magazine is like my baby, and now it's graduating from high-school, leaving the nest and

flourishing as an 'adult' in the big wide world that is newsagencies! It's not going to be smooth-sailing, the world of print can be cut-throat. Many people that I talk to don't even realise that newsagents don't have to put your magazine on the shelves. If they don't have room for it, or simply don't like it, they can throw it out. Let me just say there's a lot of wastage that goes on in newsagents, and of course, if the magazines don't sell, I don't make money for those issues. So it's not an easy game that's for sure (if it were easy everyone would

be doing it right?!). But I'm up for the challenge. I sincerely hope you enjoy this final online edition and that you'll continue your support of Adore Home magazine by purchasing our printed issues, either through our online shop or via your local newsagent/boutique retail store. I'm looking forward to what 2016 brings and I wish each and every one of you, a safe and merry Christmas! LONI PARKER EDITORIAL DIRECTOR

BLOOM & CO. Channelling her long-time appreciation for "beautiful things", interior designer Terri Shannon started Bloom & Co. to share the allure of homewares and fashion – in one store. WORDS BETH GRESHWALK PHOTOGRAPHY LISA COHEN STYLING HEATHER NETTE KING

Bloom & Co., located in the heart of Williamstown, Victoria, is abounding with exquisite eye candy for the home. But if you ask us, the true beauty of this store is that it not only aims to enhance our abodes, but also our lifestyles.

Perhaps owner and interior designer Terri Shannon best sums up Bloom & Co.: "It's a store to buy a gift for a friend or to spoil yourself. It's also a place that offers interior advice and the perfect pieces for your home."

In addition to a timeless medley of French classic, contemporary and vintage homewares, this flourishing retailer also sells women's fashions, bath and body products and other indulgent accessories.

Such décor would include rugs and textiles, cushions, bedlinens, lighting, artwork, kitchenware and beyond.

And it doesn't end there. Bloom & Co. offers an instore consultation service with an interior designer, to guide us in choosing the right décor for our homes. It's as easy as bringing in photos of rooms we'd like styled – or even paint colours and existing fabrics.

"We are constantly sourcing new products from all over the world," says Terri. "We want our range to be unique. Last year, we went to Paris and found some amazing suppliers. We also love local and Australian brands." Stock spans from Armadillo & Co's international fair trade rugs, to Bloom & Co.'s own bed and sofa, made in Melbourne. 29

"We want our range to be unique. Last year, we went to Paris and found some amazing suppliers. We also love local and Australian brands."

It's enough to keep Terri happily busy. While running her residential/commercial interior design business just above the store, she manages Bloom & Co.'s design-qualified staff and visual merchandising – all while "on the lookout for beautiful things". After all, the retailer's goal is to be a complete concept store, Terri says, hence the addition of a fashion range – or "luxury basics". 30

"Fashion is such a big part of how we express ourselves and our style," says Terri, adding, "Fashion trends and styles very much affect (those of) interiors." Bloom & Co. offers a variety of everyday and weekend wear, including the bestselling Melbourne label, Primness, known for its sublime organic cotton and silk cut styles. It's all a part of giving the retailer's target customer – women – everything she could want, the owner says. "We have regular customers of all ages – from in their 20s, right through to 80s," says Terri. "Our main customers are mums and women in their 40s and 50s. Some come in mainly

for homewares, some mainly for clothing, and some for everything." The product and efforts of Bloom & Co. have clearly kept customers happy. Due to high demand, the shop launched its online store this past September. "It's great to now be able to share our products with people all over Australia," Terri says. "A lot of locals and regular customers also use our online store to look at new products and get an idea of what they want to purchase, before they come in to the store. It was a long time in the making, but we're really happy with the end result." 35

Aimee's love of colour is evident and currently she has been enjoying the process of exploring a much softer palette. "I feel a calmer, quieter colour scheme is so much easier to live with and feels quite lovely and high end without everything shouting to be seen and competing for your attention. The pastel palette I have gone for here, suits this house and client perfectly and makes the most of all the beautiful natural light in this home." 76

In terms of favourite, go-to brands, Aimee says she adores Jardan furniture’s effortless and chic pieces. "I am also obsessed with the chunky throws from Tribe and Co Living, and have one on every bed and chair in my home. Halcyon Lake is the ultimate destination for chunky textural rugs and Huset for contemporary scandi furniture and lighting."
