HOMESTEAD| childrenswear A farm: the rudimentary, but vital base of all modern life; Homestead is a study of simplification. Drawing inspiration from the designs of Acne Studios, basic geometric forms are identified, then translated into garments suitable for the everyday functions of a child.
METABOLIC| menswear Metabolism: an architectural movement that fused ideas of megastructures with those of biological growth. Metabolic is inspired by the work of post-war, Japanese architect, Kenzo Tange. It presents ideas of alternative structure, and how constrictive lines and sharp angles can be translated into natural forms that interact organically with the body.
AERIAL | womenswear The 1920’s were a turbulent time for aeronautic development. Inspired by culture surrounding the rise of commercial airplanes, Aerial combines multiple historical notes, derived from art deco graphics seen in airline advertisements and 1920’s silhouettes, to create contemporary looks for the affluent women lucky enough to afford a transcontinental flight, or those who would rather be their own pilot.
