Spotlights of Fashion

INTRODUCTION “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” - Coco Chanel Fashion is everywhere. Fashion can be found everywhere you go such as a Park, Restaurant, Cafe, Bars, School, Office, Museum and of course on the street. You can see fashion in every step. When they think about fashion, people think about those “Fabulous Fashion Cities”: Paris, Milan, Roma, and also Florence that has a high interest about Vintage, leather goods and craftsmanship. Fashion is an art, where people try to mix and match clothes, shoes, bags and accessories to create their own style, to express their individual character, to show their identity. This project, will show the Street Fashion in Paris, Milano, Roma and Firenze. the aim of this project is to learn and communicate the diversity of Fashion in four different cities, by capturing the fashionistas on each city. The project is done over a time period of two months during the Fall season (October-November) to capture the Street Fashion in two different countries and four different cities. The pictures in this book will be posted on a Fashion Blog specially created with the description of each outfit. For the promotion of this project, a page of Facebook fan page is created in order to promote the book through social media networks which are very globalized, it has a huge amount of internet users and considering that Facebook is a tool where the news spread very quick. The link of the fashion blog is sent by e-mail to each model and the pictures on Facebook will be tagged to each model, then the models can post or publish their pictures by sharing the link of the Facebook Page or the link of the Blog, so that people in both France and Italy can see and check out the Blog.

Fashion in France, Paris French fashions are world famous. French fashion is setting trends with icon brands such as Chanel, Dior, Hermés, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent. Known French fashion designers turn Paris into the fashion city of the world. Going there, gave me an opportunity to meet French people while they are doing their weekly shopping. A good way to discover the contemporary Paris way of life. Fashion in Italy, Milano-Roma-Firenze Italian fashion has amongst the world's most important fashion designs. Fashion has always been an important part of the culture of Italy and its society. Italians are well known for their attention to dressing-up well, good impression, remains traditional in the Italian way of living. Italian fashion reached its peak during the Renaissance. As Italy is widely recognized as the cradle and birthplace of the Renaissance. Milan has prêt-a-porter, or ready-to-wear, Rome has haute couture. Milan has the popular Versace, Prada, and Armani, but Rome hosts influential couturiers such as the Sorelle Fontana, Gattinoni, and Renato Balestra. Milan may soon become a close rival to Paris as the couture capital of Europe. Milano Milan is recognized internationally as one of the world's most important fashion capitals, along with Paris, New York City, Rome, London and Tokyo. In 2009, the city was nominated "fashion capital of the world" by the Global Language Monitor, even surpassing its relative cities. Milan's fashion history has evolved greatly throughout the years. Milan began as a centre of fashion in the Middle-Ages and Renaissance, as in Venice and Florence, the making of luxury goods was an industry of such importance that in the 16th century the city gave its name to the English word “milaner”, meaning fine wares like jewellery, cloth, hats and luxury apparel.

Roma Rome is widely recognized as a world fashion capital. Although not as important as Milan, Rome is the world's 4th most important center for fashion in the world. Major luxury fashion houses and jewelry chains, such as Bulgari, Fendi, Laura Biagiotti and Brioni (fashion), just to name a few, are headquartered or were founded in the city. Also, other major labels, such as Chanel, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Versace have luxury boutiques in Rome. Firenze Firenze is an important city of fashion, because Firenze was Italy's fashion capital in the 50s and 60s. Firenze being historically the first home of Italian fashion, and the touch of old buildings gave a vintage atmoshphere for the Firenze fashion.

Paris during the fall is a city covered by an orange uniform. When the autumn leaves are falling in rebellious motions, It embracies the town’s big avenue and dancing with the last falling leaves against their will a place for lovers. a place for stylish society. the rain-drops are atill clinging And falling one by one. down the Champs the gray old arch, Stands cold and still between. Black and white life in full technicolour. Cream coloured coffee, and hot buttered toast.

Conclusion The collections of the Photographs taken from Paris, Milano, Roma and Firenze shows the different styles of Fashion in the cities. Each city shows its own characteristics. Paris as the major Fashion city, has changed the style of the younger generations to be more casual, but also does not forget the touch of elegance and classicism. Milano has a very modern and contemporary style of Fashion. The people in Milano really know how to dress and how to mix and match with the current fashion. Milano has the most stylish people among the 4 Fashion cities. People who are following current fashion trends. The crowded traffic in Roma shows the busy-ness of the city and the people. This lifestyle influence the way they dress, people in Roma likes to mix and match their outfits from the vintage fashion to the modern one. They love to look stylish. Firenze’s buildings give a classic and vintage look to the people, and the high amount of tourists gives a simple and casual look, a lot of people bought fashion goods from the vintage stores, considering there are also a lot of vintage stores in Firenze. That is why the style of the people in Firenze is a mix of vintage and casual.
