YOU MUST BE SIGNED-UP FOR A CLASS IN ORDER TO ATTEND Adams County Workforce & Business Center (WBC) offers no-cost seminars & classes for registered** job seekers to increase skills, improve job readiness, and learn effective job search strategies. Computer classes and employability classes are offered on a monthly basis. See our website (www.adcogov.org) or this month’s calendar for dates and times. You must call or visit an Adams County WBC office to sign-up for classes of your choice. When you visit to sign up, ask staff for a printout of your scheduled classes. Bring your schedule of classes with you to WINDOWS class! Introduction to Computers & Mouse – No typing test requirement – No experience needed Learn to use the mouse and gain confidence with using a computer. COMPUTER CLASS SERIES – Specifically developed for New Computer Users Introductory classes in basic computer concepts and use Designed to help Job Seekers use computers as one of their job search tools The computer classes are designed to be taken in sequential order    

COMPUTER CLASS SERIES MUST pass Typing Test - 20 adjusted-word-per-minute (20 awpm) typing requirement WINDOWS (WN) is prerequisite for all computer classes (except Intro to Computers & Mouse) All computer classes held at Brighton Government Center – 124th and Sable Blvd. Visit an Adams County Workforce & Business Center office to take typing test and sign-up

**MICROSOFT WINDOWS **(WN) - Typing speed of 20 awpm requirement Take a tour of Windows XP operating system. Explore common features of all “Windows”. Discover how to control the virtual image and customize your workspace using the mouse and keyboard. Learn about many universal features of all Windows-based programs. Includes Orientation to Workforce Center, computer lab, and other available classes. **Attending WN is prerequisite for all the following computer classes** INTERNET JOB SEARCH & EMAIL (IJ) - Introduction to the Internet, its resources, and how they can be used in your job search. Learn to navigate through the Internet to search for job openings. Practice completing on-line applications. Learn to use your Internet email account for job search and personal purposes. Practice sending and receiving messages and attaching documents (such as résumés) to messages. (attending WN is prerequisite) MICROSOFT WORD (W1 & W2) - MUST ATTEND BOTH - In two class sessions, tour a word processing program. Explore many popular features of MS Word 2007. Become familiar with basic techniques for personalizing the computer workspace and for editing, formatting, printing, and saving documents. (attending WN is prerequisite) MICROSOFT EXCEL (E1 & E2) - MUST ATTEND BOTH - In two class sessions, gain an introduction to a spreadsheet program and many of its most popular features. Create eye-catching spreadsheets and explore some quick and easy shortcuts that will allow Excel 2007 to work for you. (attending WN is prerequisite) MICROSOFT POWERPOINT (PP) - Learn to use this presentation program to create a short slide show complete with illustrations, animations, and slide transitions.
