Each cabin incorporates the large window sets now synonymous with Sunseeker design.

A guest appearance from Tamara Ecclestone provided an excellent photo opportunity after Robert Braithwaite, President and Founder of Sunseeker International cut the ribbon in celebration.

Predator 53 Borrowing from other boats in the Sunseeker range gives the Predator 53 a pedigree all of its own. A sleek and an intuitive accommodation layout make this boat a winner in all departments. The main deck saloon area is split between two spacious social areas, incorporating an aft patio door closing the area off from the aft cockpit. The saloon features a carbon sliding hardtop positioned above the helm and dinette seating area, bringing the outside in. This feature provides the saloon entertaining area with a fantastic sky view, just one of many cutting edge design features.

28 Metre Yacht This new design launched the next generation of the ‘Sunseeker’ Yacht look. The element most captivating is the remarkable extent of main deck glazing. Unusually down the sides and around the rear of the saloon, merging with the aft patio doors. This new wrap around glazing gives the main deck accommodation a unique extraordinarily bright interior, bringing the outside in. Just as this increases the usability of the saloon throughout the day, particularly with the option of side doors and bulwark balcony, other external social areas new sunpad and group seating formats. hobby must be extremely snooty. When I chatted to the Guns I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they came from all walks of life from pond maintenance, pig farmer, pilot, lawyer and of course the odd oil tycoon thrown in. When I broached the conservation moral debate, I got the same answer, “Where do you think that chicken comes from? You won’t get any more free range than these birds.” So true. On this day I experienced how the Beaters day plays

my sweet scented perfume I had spritzed all over me. Range Rovers, Land Rovers and all sorts of 4x4’s began to arrive, the boots were opened and an array of Labradors and Springer Spaniels were released, so excited about the day to come. It astonished me how well behaved they were, they knew they were permitted a few minutes to run around before they were back by the side of their owners following them closely or sitting still where they were told. So very different from my indoor, spoiled springer’s who would run amuck on a day like this. While still a privileged sport and certainly not for those of us with light pockets, a shoot day has not lost its class system. The Guns ride in one trailer, the Beaters in another and they lunch separately but what’s funny is they all still pee up a tree if they need to!

being boys but when you stick an out of place young good jest and I certainly held my own. how serious everyone was. The whistle blew and the drive began, I felt like a soldier mounting a covert attack, talking, being very stealth like until I was told to bang my stick against the trees, walk forward, shout loudly ‘Ay yay Ay Ay Ay!’ and to “hold that bloody line!” All of a sudden birds appeared from nowhere taking off in what seemed like their hundreds, scurrying along the gracefully. Pheasants really are beautiful birds with their colours and long tails. My admiration however was cut short when the shotgun blasts started ahead of me. I instinctively ducked, much to the amusement of the men either side of me, and ducked again when a monster

bird came thundering through the trees and crash landed by me, I managed to hold in a scream while jumping three feet in the air. The poor bird was lying lifeless, I instinctively wanted to see if it was ok (of course, not the point of the day to give CPR to a pheasant!) The beater to my right nodded at me pointing his rugged walking stick at the bird urging me to pick it up. Wanting to prove to my husband that I certainly was woman enough to deal with this and I to Greenpeace, I walked over while the Beater said “pick it up by the neck.’ I did and was surprised how nice and warm it was on a cold day! Surprisingly the pheasant holding it as far from my body as I could and shrieking hit the ground. It wouldn’t have known about it.” He said as he took the bird from me.

What I like is shoots can rear and release about 15,000 down for the game birds caters as well for the declining songbirds and other woodland creatures. I also love seeing every year more and more of the birds hanging around and breeding in the wild. I now call myself a country person and urge us all to think again, to think that that expensive game dish we order in the fancy London restaurants, was probably shot by someone who paid a lot of money for a great day out but more importantly, it really came from the solid hard graft of a Gamekeeper and his Beaters, often collectively called, us mere simple countryfolk. Victoria Theodorou, Kelsale Shoot, Suffolk

Well, I was stunned, I just stood there, shocked…. Three years later I sit here writing this article, days before sunshine thinking, ‘What a great day for me to do some shooting.’ No, I haven’t gone that far, I now photograph the days, the amazing birds, dogs in action and hot

nice and high? Will they be in the maize, in the wood? Who would have thought that I would be contemplating had a bunch of bad guns that couldn’t shoot enough so we would not make our bag for the day. It took some teaching and hands on experience for me to understand shooting and conservation but it really makes sense to me now. When it is done correctly and humanely, it is not a hunt it is a straight kill, no pain to the birds, they

Aviation Update As with many products, China is an important market for business jets. All of the existing manufacturers are working hard to sell their products into this burgeoning aircraft manufacturer, AVIC, plans to produce an entire family of business jets in the country by the end of the decade. It is identifying the types of business jets ways to manufacture them in the country. The rapid development of China’s economy has resulted in a boom in business aviation.

An agreement between AVIC and Cessna plan to set up a joint venture in 2012 to manufacture Cessna’s Sovereign to roll off the Chengdu production line by the end of 2013.

Elsewhere, there are signs of a recovery in the long depressed business jet market, particularly at the lower end. Although a short term recovery it is not expected, any further downside is unlikely. This is pleasing news for the industry especially Hawker Beechcraft, Inc. who has recently reached agreement with its lenders to provide the company with approximately $120 million of additional liquidity. The company intends to use this to fund its ongoing operations and restructure the debt taken on in 2007 when the company was acquired.

“The revival of a famous company after it has passed through the hands of the administrators is never an easy task,” Sir George told us. “As far as Bristol Cars is concerned, the challenge has fallen into two capable of equalling the quality and exceeding the performance of the cars that built the marque’s reputation. Giant steps are being made in this respect, but naturally in great secrecy. The second is to preserve Bristol’s glorious past. My role, and that of my wife Joanna, will be to assist in every way possible in uniquely exciting future.” Julian Ramshaw, joins Bristol Cars as General Manager from the Sytner Group commented that, “Bristol Cars has a bright future ahead of it and I feel incredibly excited and privileged to be a part of the plans. There are some challenges ahead but we have a strong additional energy and ideas Frazer Nash bring, and my experience with brands like Ferrari and Maserati, we can put Bristol back where it belongs,”

HISTORY

In October 1941, Mr. George White, grandson of the founder of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, sent a paper to its directors recommending that Bristol should one day manufacture motor cars. They were to be “of medium size but of the highest class”. They were to carry with them ‘a certain individuality’ and were to be ‘designed’ in the best sense of the word and not merely assembled as so many British cars may service, he noted that “more cars are service than by any other single factor.” He insisted that “customers must be made to feel that the Company welcomes the opportunity to see their cars and carry out small adjustments on them from time to time, and that we are interested in seeing that clients’ cars give the utmost satisfaction to their owners.” In 1945 the Bristol Aircraft Company then Europe’s largest aircraft manufacturer, took his advice and branched out into automobile manufacture. Using its huge resources and cutting edge engineering expertise, it ensured that levels of quality and mechanical integrity were unparalleled.
