From The Pastor’s Desk
Pastor Adam Riveiro
I believe that missions is the very heartbeat of the church. The Great Commission, which is found at the end of each of the Gospels, compels us to preach the Gospel to everyone. Acts 1:8 further explains this, as Jesus says that we are to “…be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” This means we are to not just preach the Word locally, but to assist in it being preached all around the world.
Although we are still a baby church, we do have a missions program. I felt that it was vitally important for our church to have a global vision for the Gospel at the very start. Our church currently supports two couples who are finishing deputation and are preparing to go to the field. We are proud to support the Pranger family to Siberia and the Keck family to Papa New Guinea. I will be putting more information about these families on our website by the end of the week. Would you take some time to read about them during the week ahead? I hope this will give you a better idea of how to pray for them. Also, you will notice on the offering envelope that there is a place for missions giving. Any amount that you designate goes expressly to the funding of like-minded mission works around the world. I have more plans in the future for our missions program, but I believe this is a great start. I encourage you to get behind the cause of missions!
