32ND ANNUAL CASPER OPEN VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Offered in coordination with the Natrona County School District
Volleyball enthusiasts from all over the Rocky Mountain Region come to Casper to compete in “The Open” each year early in November. Men’s and women’s divisions include competition in a variety of levels including Power, Semi-Power or Recreational. The tournament format is one day of pool play followed by double elimination bracket competition on Sunday. Games are played at nearly every court in the City of Casper. Last year over 140 Men’s and Women’s teams participated. Tournament Dates: November 11-12 Team Entry Fee-$100 Team Entry Deadline-Thursday, October 26

Men’s and women’s teams interested in playing in the adult basketball league should drop by the Casper Recreation Center now to pick up an informational packet and registration form. All team entries are due by November 9 with games getting underway after the Thanksgiving Holiday.

WORK IN SPORTS The Casper Recreation Division is looking for ambitious, conscientious individuals to officiate any of the following sports: basketball, volleyball and softball. Traveling exhibit “Centuries of Mining in Wyoming” will be open September 13 – November 18. Ghost Tours of Fort Caspar will be held on October 20, 21, 27 & 28; this is a ticketed event. Tickets go on sale on October 3. Traveling exhibit “Hollywood Art of Jacques Kapralik” will be open November 22. The Candlelight Christmas at the Fort will be held December 2, 5:30 – 8:30 pm; this a FREE, drop-in program. Come explore the exhibit “Troopers; Celebrating 60 Years of the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps”. The museum collects, preserves, and exhibits materials related to the Fort Caspar, the City of Casper, Natrona County, and Central Wyoming. Visit the museum to explore prehistoric Wyoming. Learn about historic trail features and Fort Caspar history. Relive Casper’s many boom and bust cycles. Examine the development of the oil & gas industry in Central Wyoming. Encounter the evolution of the sheep & cattle industry. Enjoy the various traveling and temporary exhibits on display.
