UNDERSTANDING IM=X® FUNDAMENTALS PART 1 The IM=X® 5 fundamentals were designed to simplify spinal mechanics and stabilization. Spinal Elongation: ▷▷ Lengthening the spine beyond neutral without flattening its thoracic or lumbar curves ▷▷ Spinal flexors and extensors engage ▷▷ Decompresses the spinal segments and the hip ▷▷ Elongates the spinal and abdominal muscle in a neutral position IM=X® uses this technique between exercises to avoid compressive loading during exercise and to strengthen the Spine Stabilization System which in turn prevents back problems.
