Leo Male, 10 months old, fluffy black and white cat.

When I first arrived, I shared a cage with Priest and Bernie but they recently got adopted. Fortunately, I was rescued from a PTS situation and fostered by some nice ladies until I could come here. You’ll love me once you meet me. I’ll reach out for when you walk by. When you hold me, I’ll groom your face and purr at the same time. Obviously, I get along with other cats too. I’m one of THE friendliest cats here and I really want a home for the holidays. I’m writing a letter to Santa now – Please find me a loving home with a nice family and a lonely cat looking for a buddy. Hugs & Kisses – Leo. P.S.: I’m at the Pat Brody Shelter. All cats are fixed and up to date on shots. Please visit our website: to view all our shelter residents and craft store.

Lunenburg, MA • Call us at 1-978-582-6116 or visit our website: provide all safety equipment needed, provide 3 t-shirts or tank tops and 1 long sleeved shirt, rent hotel rooms at approximately the half-way point for teams to have a quick nap and a shower. This is a really fun event and I even did it in 2014, so beginner runners have time to train and be successful! If an individual is willing to captain a team, meaning you will recruit a team of 11 additional runners, the team captain can skip fundraising. If one person does not take on the task of recruiting the team and it is a collaborative effort creating the team, then everyone is fundraising. Each team will raise over $14,000. Your team can decide which SMILE Mass project receives the proceeds raised by your team. If an overnight relay is not of interest, SMILE Mass is also seeking runners for the 7-mile Falmouth Road Race. This race takes place on August 16th, 2020. The fundraising commitment for this race is $1000 per runner. In exchange, SMILE Mass will pay the registration fee, provide a running t-shirt or tank top and host an after party at Soprano’s Casino by the Sea right next to the finish line with food and non-alcoholic beverages. If runners would like SMILE Mass to reserve a hotel room the night before the race, the fundraising commitment is $1500. Interested runners should fill out the running application found at Small Miracles in Life Exist (SMILE Mass) is a 501

Stock the car for roadside emergencies Disasters can happen in a flash, and having a plan in place for common emergency situations can make it easier to handle adverse conditions, particularly when away from home. According to MFASCO Health and Safety, a supplier of first aid supplies and kits, 90 percent of people do not carry first aid supplies or other emergency gear in their vehicles. Among those who may carry supplies, 30 percent never check to determine if they’re in good working order. The National Safety Council says that drivers should always keep emergency supply kits in the trunks or cargo areas of their vehicles. Kits should be inspected every six months, and worn out items should be replaced. Roadside emergency kits can make the difference between getting back on the road safely or being stranded for hours. Such kits also may help prevent or treat injuries, potentially saving lives. Weather should be considered when preparing vehicle emergency kits, which should include the following. • A properly inflated spare tire and tire-changing equipment • Jumper cables • A multipurpose utility tool and/or tool kit • Flashlight and batteries • Flares or triangle reflectors • An extra quart of motor oil • A first-aid kit containing at the least, gauze, tape, bandages, antibiotic ointment, aspirin, nonlatex gloves, scissors, hydrocortisone, thermometer, tweezers, and instant cold compress • A blanket • A tire pressure gauge • A portable tire inflator • Paper towels • Nonperishable, high-energy foods • Drinking water • A reflective vest • Duct tape • A fire extinguisher • An ice scraper • A folding shovel • Coolant and washer fluid • A phone charger • Baby/child supplies, if pertinent • Rope Keep roadside emergency kits organized at all times. Store items securely in a milk crate, box or backpack so they are always readily available. People should familiarize themselves with the items in the kit so they know how to use them correctly and quickly. With some planning and organization, drivers can have the supplies they will need to make it through roadside emergencies safely.

Sommer is an avid military reenactor, helping bring history alive of Civil War, World War I and World War II days. A native of Carlisle, he has spent most of his adult life in Groton. He earned a Bachelor’s degree at Northeastern and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. He brought his engineering skills to bear especially in the field of communications and is now retired. Sommer is a member of the Board of Directors of the Museum. The great trouble with baseball today is that most of the players are in the game for the money and that’s it, not for the love of it, the excitement of it, the thrill of it.

WWI Pilgrimage To Europe Program Guest speaker Tom Sommer highlights his “Trip of a Lifetime,” a military history pilgrimage to Europe on Saturday January 18th at 1:00 PM. The museum is located on the 3rd floor of 94 Jackson Road and will be open from 10 AM to 3 PM on this day. An amateur historian with a lifelong interest in military history, Sommer spent two November 2018 weeks in the Meuse Argonne part of France for the Centennial of the end of World War I. Then he spent another two weeks in Germany and Poland, visiting museums, historical sites, and retracing his great grandfather’s steps. He will present an illustrated look at his trip and display some artifacts from battlefields in France.
