A pertinent question is why the sandwich construction has not been used more extensively. The reason is that traditional sandwich construction is prone to separation between the skin and core.
The basic sandwich technology is simple. A lightweight foam core in between two halves of a plate increases the stiffness and strength with an incredible factor.

The Acrosoma HD 80 is a standard panel and is always available in any possible length: 2.78 meter width and 30 mm thick. Skin composition: 1200 gr 0째/90째 + 500 gr CSM. All technical applications are available on www.acrosoma.com. Specific applications will be studied by the Acrosoma engineers on demand.

A foam core is pulled through the entire machine. First, this foam core is covered on top and bottom by a complex of fibres (mostly glass) and stitched. A wetter injects resin and the combination is heated up in a die. The cured panel is pulled through the whole process by a puller, each time the needles have left the core.
