to society a person should have a strong foundation and appreciation in ethics and morality and should know the difference between right and wrong and should live a life of respect for others and contribution to society. To maintain our local students’ connection to their roots, we require our Chinese students to study 19 class periods a week in Chinese during elementary and junior high school and 10 class periods a week during high school. The local students study the same Mandarin, math and social studies classes their counterparts in local schools study in Chinese. This allows them to maintain their Chinese language aptitude while they study American curriculum. This give parents the added flexibility of preparing their children for both a local and international educational future. EBIS Dandong Mission: Our mission is to provide our students and their families with an education that will enrich their lives academically, socially and morally. We will equip our students with the skills needed to start them on a path of academic and professional excellence, to be competitive in today’s fast-changing international marketplace and instill in them values and ethics that will make them lights in their communities and forces for good in the world. We aim to achieve this by: a. b. c. d. e.

High School Academic Philosophy The Eaglebridge International School Dandong (EBIS Dandong) high school educational philosophy focuses on preparing its students for a successful academic career overseas. As such, its
academic program is designed to provide a solid educational foundation in all core subjects while also exposing them to arts, sports and culture. Emphasis is placed on helping students become independent decision makers with an emphasis on problem solving, the absorption of decisioncritical information and the quick formation of opinions. Students study an intellectually challenging curriculum that forces questioning and independent thought. Small class sizes allow for one-on-one mentoring and action/discussion groups. Students are taught to write concisely, interact with fellow students and authority figures and present their opinions accurately and effectively. The emphasis on research, report writing and online study increases a student's self-motivation and interactive learning skills. Community activities encourage the development of a social conscience and understanding of an individual's responsibility in society. The participation in organized sports help students learn to work as part of a team and to better understand their physical and social abilities. Overseas study trips and in-country field trips are designed to prepare students for life away from home and identifying their positions within a social group of their peers. After graduating from EBIS Dandong elementary school students and parents will need to make a choice about whether they wish to receive an American junior high school diploma or a Chinese junior high school diploma.
