Focus Summer 2009

Lib Dem Campaigner and Focus Editor Alastair McPhee has thanked local voters for their support in the recent Bishopbriggs South byelection, in which the Lib Dems doubled their vote share, and were the only party to increase their number of voters. Alastair said: “I’d like to thank all of the people who supported me, and recognised the work I do in the community. I will continue to be a champion for Bishopbriggs South.” He added: “Congratulations should be given to Alan Moir for his victory, as we remember the good work that Provost Alex Hannah did for our area.”

Alastair McPhee and the Liberal Democrats work with local people for Bishopbriggs.

After the Euro and local elections people are wondering what the results mean for the General Election here? The picture is clear: it’s a two horse race. Just look at the results from last time - it’s a straight fight between Jo Swinson and Labour. Jo Many people want to send Gordon Swinson MP Brown a clear message, but voting for the SNP or Conservatives at the General Election just helps Labour sneak in.
