Message from Angela Gittens Director General, ACI World
Upcoming ACI events to focus on a safe, successful and economically sustainable future
Dear Colleagues, August has arrived at full throttle—it is the busiest travel month of the year, and it is also a very busy time for ACI as we prepare for two of our most important annual events: The Trinity Forum, taking place in Mumbai, India, 12 to 14 September; and, the 2016 ACI-North America/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition, taking place in Montreal, Canada, 25 to 28 September.
to the financial resilience of airports the world over. Retail in particular, remains the leading source of non-aeronautical revenue representing 28% of the total and generated mostly by duty-free offerings. An all-star lineup of the trinity: airport, retailer and brand experts, will discuss upto-date themes such as changing consumer aspirations and correlations between passenger satisfaction and financial performance. We will also get an external perspective on our industry—increasingly important in our interconnected world. Stefano Baronci, ACI World’s Director of Economics, will lead a special workshop on the last day of the conference to give attendees the details of the latest Airport Service Quality Survey (ASQ) results, including the conclusions of a specially commissioned study on the impact of passenger satisfaction on airport commercial revenues.
The Trinity Forum is the opportunity for airport operators, retailers and brand owners to share solutions for each to prosper in the important non-aeronautical revenue stream and to find ways to delight that critical fourth party—the travelling consumer. Our host this year is GVK and Mumbai International Airport Ltd. It promises to be an exceptional event with the theme of, “Adding value to the consumer journey in an omni-channel age.”
Shortly after The Trinity Forum is the North America/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition. This is a most special event this year, not only because it will be in Montreal, the home of ACI World and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), but also because 2016 marks our 25th Anniversary. What better way to celebrate than with our gracious host, Aéroports de Montréal, as we join with all sectors of the industry to exchange insights into the latest trends and strategies for our industry.
Data from ACI’s recently released 2015 Airport Economics Report shows that nonaeronautical revenue continues to be key
Setting the tone will be a keynote address from Peter Bergen, a renowned journalist and author of three New York Times
