LOCAL FOCUS EVENTS SIP ON THE STRAZ CENTER RIVERWALK Located near the southern end of Straz Center’s Riverwalk expanse, and fashioned inside a retrofitted 1966 Airstream Safari Land Yacht, the new Straz dining addition, SIP, offers an array of cocktails and a rotating selection of local craft brews on tap, as well as smoothies, coffee, soft drinks and water. SIP promises to be a casual urban oasis with a stunning view and a cool vibe. The Straz is one of a handful of facilities licensed by the city to provide to-go cups for alcohol. These speciallydesigned cups are available at SIP so that guests can take their libations with them as they explore the Riverwalk. Hours: Tues-Thurs from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., Fri from 4 p.m. until 12 a.m., Sat from 11 a.m. until 12 a.m. and Sun from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., weather permitting. Closed on Mon. www.

PETER MAX RETROSPECTIVE. A newly-curated collection by artist Peter Max’s paintings will be on exhibition and available for acquisition at Syd Entel Galleries in Safety Harbor. The Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau in partnership with The Studio at Gulf and Pine in Anna Maria, invites fans and art collectors to view a unique selection of works of art created by Seymour. The exhibition of nearly fifty original watercolors, oils, open heart bronze sculptures and limited-edition giclee prints are on display and available for acquisition. Ms. Seymour will be there in person to help unveil the newest piece of public art on the Bradenton Riverwalk. The unveiling ceremony takes place at 11 a.m. on Fri, Jan 18, directly across from Veteran’s Monument Park. In addition to the art exhibition and unveiling event, Seymour will appear at the Manatee Performing Arts Center (502 3rd Ave. W., Bradenton, FL 34205) on Saturday, January 19 at 12 p.m., when she will talk about her artwork. This event will conclude with a short Q & A, followed by a book signing, and photo opportunity with the artist. Seymour is best known for her performances in the James Bond film Live and Let Die, Somewhere in Time, as well as the American television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
