“I’ll love, I’ll defend, and I’ll honor the glorious orange and blue.”
More than $6 million raised by the Orange & Blue Club since 1979.
Teams and student-athletes wearing the orange & blue have maintained a national presence in collegiate athletics for more than a century – from football’s first All-American, Paul “Polly” Sieber, in 1906 to the 1980 field hockey and 2011 women’s lacrosse national titles. Since 1970, Gettysburg has sent teams and individuals to compete for national championships every year and has won more Centennial Conference championships than any other institution in the league –
winning the most titles in men’s and women’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s swimming. Student-athletes at Gettysburg play for the love of the game and an education that will lead them into their professional life. They don’t make a choice between athletic achievement and academic excellence. They choose both. Historically, the GPA of athletes has been equal to or higher than the GPA of the overall student body.
For more than three decades, the Orange & Blue Club has provided annual support to Gettysburg College Athletics, ensuring that the Bullets have the resources needed to remain a leader among NCAA Division III programs. This financial support is critical. Student-athletes and coaches could not achieve this high level of success without the combination of college and donor resources. Whether for scoreboards, fields, uniforms, equipment, stateof-the-art technologies,
or cutting-edge training methods, the dollars raised through O&B impact every part of the athletic program at Gettysburg. The outstanding growth of O&B over 30 years is a point of pride for alumni, parents, and friends of the College. Support the O&B Club – this year and every year – and provide for the student-athletes, coaches, trainers, and staff. Giving to the O&B Club strengthens a community that values academic excellence, athletic spirit and rich tradition.
